Al Diafah is one of the most enduring restaurants in Seri Petaling. But their service and food has gone down the drain recently. We went there last night and got the worst experience we have had anywhere. Took 30 minutes for orders to arrive but only certain dishes and not all the drinks. Despite the waiter writing down our orders, they delivered the wrong ones. For example, ordered Chicken Tagen but delivered Shrimp Tagen. When I brought this up, without touching it, the waiter asked, "Are you SURE you ordered the chicken?" Well of course I ordered the chicken because I am allergic to seafood. The waiter took it back with a lot of huffing and puffing and unsatisfied look on his face. More than 3 times they came back to say that some of the items we ordered were out of stock. Fine, we changed the items. Now it took another long wait. The Chicken Tagen took ages to be served. We ordered ice-cream for our kids. Two scoops: One chocolate and one strawberry to be exact. The price is RM7.00 per scoop. It took forever to arrive but when it did, it was one scoop vanilla and one scoop strawberry, despite reminding them 3 times. No apologies given. But better yet, they charged us for 3 scoops. The Al Diafa rice was excellent, because the Mandy Rice was out of stock, but we give credit for this. The BBQ Chicken was so dry and hard I might as well eat tree bark. At least I'd get some fibre. One Mandy Chicken wasn't delivered for one hour... in the end, "chicken is out of stock." So we had to resort to lamb which our guest ate with much difficulty. And in the end we got hit with a big bill (10% service charge and 6% GST). Although we know the place is expensive, it really was not justified given the exceptionally poor service and the bad food. It was supposed to be a celebratory dinner for two mothers who are due within weeks but we left with a bad taste in our mouths. We would have been happier eating at Miraasa mamak compared to this. Not even...
Read moreHello there ^^ Solarance again and today I bring you all to an Arabic food place called Al Diafah. My friend Mr J wanted to eat due to his cravings so we decided to heck with it XD
So we ordered a few options but I let him decide since my knowledge on Arabic food is kinda.. well.. not qualified 😂😂😂
1- We ordered the Hummus made our go chickpeas. Price wise it’s ok but texture and taste, my my it’s quite excellent. Both me and Mr J agreed that this is a 4/5 👍🏻
2- next, I decided to get myself a salad.. I kinda forgot it’s name but it’s made almost all of chickpeas and cucumber. Taste wise it’s not bad and Mr J seemed to like it. So this one is 4/5 👍🏻 acidic and crunchy. The chickpeas help balance the sourness 👍🏻
3- Mr J also prompted for the Chicken sandwich and honestly its very securely wrapped and delicious! I think this one deserves 5/5. Juicy, delicious and really pleasing on the palate 👍🏻 comes with garlic sauce too which I’m obsessed with!
4- Next order is the mixed grill which contains lamb and chicken kebab and Shish kebab. I’m not a big fan of lamb but the chicken was good. Mr J said the lamb was good as it wasn’t gamey so this is a well done dish 👍🏻 I’d rate this one 4/5
5- atmosphere wise, kinda tacky haha but kinda expected from an Arab themed restaurant. The cutleries are placed in a plastic bag so it’s clean when customers use it so great on hygiene care 👍🏻
Overall, Mr J and I are quite pleased with the restaurant with a happy 8/10 scoring and 5/5 ⭐️. One of the good Arab food I have to say so...
Read morePrice : expensive - going in a large group will help you to try different type of food.
Service : OK. We wanted to combine our tables to fit our people, so they went for it. Service charge is quite high, but still we need to walk to the counter to pay.
Ambience : nice authentic midde-east vibe, very clean
Area : located in a congested place, quite hard to find a parking space.
Portion : large and fit the price
Mendy Chicken & Mendy Lamb with Mendy rice : can serve 6-7 people . Meat was juicy and the flesh are soft. Rice is really aromatic. Generous portion.
Chicken kebab : can serve 2 -3 people.
Shouldnt have ordered their watermelon juice (taste is great) as they keep refuelling your plain water, a plus-point for that. A plain water is enough if you gonna keep your stomach full with all the food.
We wish we didnt ordered two different types of salad, as their taste are nothing extra but just a plain salad. All their kebabs and falafel comes with vegetables on the plate as well, so we had enough source of veges for the meal. Might as well just focus on the rice and protein.
They served a free flow soup but we didnt know about it. The staff should have told us about this. so we ordered a small bowl of plain lamb soup for rm12 to go with the rice, luckily the taste is nice.
Overall we still enjoyed our heart out with...
