This is an atypical ramen place. They are famous for their dry ramen AKA soup-less ramen known as mazesoba. Apart from the dry ramen, we tried the gyoza and kaarage too and highly recommend it. Gyoza was freshly wrapped and fried, and the chicken kaarage came hot and crispy.

For the mazesoba, when it arrives take your pictures before you start eating because the next step, you'll need to add some of their vinegar then (unfortunately) destroy their presentation by "rojak-mixing" everything in the entire bowl before you can dig in. Do not attempt to eat it without mixing or you'll be missing out on the flavor combinations & the experience. Once noodles are eaten, resist the temptation to drink & slurp up the leftover sauces. Instead, ask the servers for the addition scoop of rice that you're entitled to. They'll take your bowl, add a small scoop of white rice to it, and return it to you so you can mix it all up with the leftover saucy goodness in your bowl - nothing goes to waste here - and you get a bonus ricey experience on top of the ramen.

They do have soup-based ramen if you want but I think it's only limited to about 3 options. Plain room-temperature water was freely available for all diners if you choose not to order any drinks. The hot green tea we ordered was also refillable.

Limited seats in this little shop which is why there can be a line at the door, but the wait is not terribly bad. Seating is mostly surrounding their kitchen in a bar type setting so you can watch the action happen, but unfortunately this probably explains why it can feel hot & somewhat stuffy in here even though they have a few fans and air-conditioning. They have a few tables for 4 people to sit around. Not a great place for large sized groups. And as someone else has mentioned, this is a place where you want to be a little more kind and considerate to other patrons waiting at the entrance for a seat: try not to linger or hang out here for too long after finishing your meal so others waiting outside can have their chance of getting their meal too. It's a little stuffy and not a pleasant place to chit chat and hangout for long periods of time anyways!

Verdict: Delicious mazesoba....

Most of the comment here have already mention about the food and service. I do agree to some of their opinions. So for my review, I will be touching on the environment instead.

Upon entering for the first time, you will notice that the space is small but big in length. Hence the weird sitting arrangement and narrow corridor between table.

Sitted at the end near the back ally entrance, I can say with full confidence it was the worst experience i have ever felt. The humidity was so intense that the whole experience of the eating your food was not appetising.

Because of the workspace build right at the middle of the restaurant, the exhaust fan was absorbing all the A/C cooling wind. The wall fans were completely useless, only adding more circulation to the already hot temperature.

We reached out to one of your staff about the issue. I seems they have been dealing with this for some time now. No response from the manager what so ever to rectify this problem. Thats very sad.

To the staff : I solute your dedication in dealing with this temperature on a daily basis. Your commitment to your work is astounding. I only wish your boss do not take your dedication for granted and acknowledged your commitments.

To the manager : As the business owner of this franchise, your behaviour is not acceptable in any establishment. How can you not respond to the feedback; via the staffs and customers alike? You have an obligation to make improvements on the situation that occurs. The health of this restaurant is in your hands. Do not take this review so likely and take action for the health of this restaurant's reputation. Be better.

To the patrons who are reading this message : Speak up for it is your right as a consumer. Ignorance will only make matters the same. Your voice via reviews do make a difference on people's decision. Be part of the solution and not the problem. Cannot feel hot ah regulars?! You guys love the sauna heat is it?

If you have made it this far, thank you for taking your time to read this lengthy review. As always, have a nice day...

Second visit of this noodle shop , dropped my visit again today. The Food is good, but the service was totally ruin my dining experience. I’ll rather visit the same shop but different outlet but not Sri petaling anymore.

Was assigned to a bar seat table due to the space was limited when we ( 2 of us ) just arrived to the shop. After ordering, I noticed that there’s some empty table at behind and I wish to shift my dining area to there for a better space as there’s no customer was queuing in that moment. But we got informed that the tables behind (which is isolated from the bar table) is ideally for 3pax and above , I was like okay fine as I’m understand that (but behind the empty table , there’s also 2 pax sitting the same sizes .) Not more that 1 minutes after I got informed, there’s another 2 pax of customer was assigned to the table that I requested to shift originally * same waiter that told me that we cannot shift to the table* As this incident was totally unacceptable and I felt so unfair for this. To whom it may concern for the privacy, dining space and risk of being discriminate, I won’t recommend either as there’s plenty of...

One of the nicer places to have good Japanese noodles. Can be a bit pricey (RM21 for my noodles, other options also around that price or go up to RM32) l, but it tastes damn good. *A large bowl of noodles can now cost RM26, and RM30+ for some options. Inflation 😭 Don't forget about the white kelp vinegar they give, adding that really raises the flavor. They give free mineral water. You can also ask for a free bit of rice after you finish your noodles to wipe clean the noodle broth. Noodle broth is great, aromatic with egg, minced meat, and garlic. Takoyaki is among the best I've tasted, crispy shell with piping hot filling, and fresh tako. Considering past takoyakis I had all come from night markets, which are often soggy and cold, this is really on a whole other level. Can be a bit salty after a few bites but the given veges help balance that out. The place can be a bit warm inside. Most recent visit with noodles and takoyaki cost RM40 Edit: There's a cheaper rice option now, RM15.90 as of August 2024. It tastes very nice after adding the spicy vinegar provided there

Walked in with a Japanese bar setup and ordered the signature udon, not really a fan of soba to be honest but changed my mind. That egg yolk at the center really makes it an eyeporn and enough for mouth watering, when you break the egg yolk and mix everything up - the whole bowl becomes a giant mess. The egg yolk here serves as a glue for all the ingredients, it clings onto the soba nicely and adds a touch of gloss making it very pleasant on the looks. When you take a bite the whole umami-ness just covers your mouth - a total savoury experience. To bring up the next level, add the vinegar bit by bit - adjust to your tasting. That extra vinegar is just going to make all the flavour blend together which to be honest, had never experience anything like this before. When you finish the soba, grab your bowl up and the staff will gladly add a scoop of rice onto the left over. Combine and mix well, the rice will absorb all the egg yolk goodness making it felt like this is another dish! 🙆🏼‍♂️
