- Ambiance and decor is really nice. Place is cooling and bright. Overall, a pretty comfortable space. - Service is really poor and lack the enthusiasm. They do have sufficient manpower. With 6ppl on the floor at the time on a none busy period, none of them were quick to serve us nor greet us at the door when we came in. - Food is really really overhyped up! Everything was so expensive for the value it offers. I have no problem paying for pricier food items that actually taste good. But everything i ordered fell flat. - I ordered a total of 9 items on their menu: 1. Rebecca waffles - RM 28 These are waffles with scarce looking fruits with a scoop of earl grey ice and maple syrup. Aesthetically pleasing to the eye i must say. Upon arrival, this plate of food looks good. But when tasting it, it tasted cheap. I barely got any strawberries, i had like 3 thinly sliced blueberry, so thats like what? Equivalent to 1 whole blueberry? 🤣, 3 to 4 slices of banana. The saving grace was probably the ice-cream, but even that was mediocre. 2. Strawberry lemonade - RM 15 - Refreshing, overall decent. 3. Taro Cake - RM 16 - the yam mousse for this is not bad, had a nice mellow taro flavour, cake part was dry. 4. French Butter Croissant - RM 8 - Not buttery at all. Got it reheated and it was still not crispy nor flaky at all. Got to know that they get their croissant from Vcr so can't penalised them for this. 5. Truffle fries - RM 23 - Nothing to complain about the fries itself. It was crispy and freshly fried. But the garlic truffle aioli sauce, where them truffles at? 😵‍💫 6. Prawn and mushroom risotto - RM 38 - This dish is the worst out of the lot. And dont get me started on the "Moroccan prawns" advertised on their menu. The 3 prawns that came were so bloody mushy. I wanna say that they cooked it to its death, but the texture and taste of it feels more like it is because the prawns were not fresh. 7. Mac & cheese RM 17 - the highlight of today's dinner. These were quite lovely. They were steaming hot and creamy. Pretty cheesy. Only thing to fault was that the smoked chicken slices were stingy and the macaroni was a tad bit too soft to my liking. But overall, a pretty decent bowl of mac & cheese. 8. Grilled beef eye fillet - RM 42 - This was a bloody disappointment! These were beef eye fillets on a bed of mashed potato, some kind of jalapeno verde and supposedly with seasonal vegetables. First of all, where are my vegetables? Beef was overcooked and not even hot when arrived to us on the table which was weird as it took time to come. The flavours of the whole dish does not work well together. The mashed potato had no seasoning whatsoever and the jalapeno verde just looked and tasted like chopped up jalapeno from a jar and is chucked on top of the beef. Everything in this plate just does not work in synergy. A complete disaster🤦🏻‍♀️ 9. Mushroom soup - RM 20 - Pretty tasty and hearty soup with a side of delicious toasted sourdough from VCR. Nothing to complain about. Total damage came out to be RM 227 with RM 20 for service charge. 🤦🏻‍♀️

We brought our kids for a staycation at Arte Mont Kiara and stumbled upon Allo by The Oats Cafe, an upmarket fusion restaurant on the ground level of the Arte Mont Kiara. Our kids love Italian and Western food, so this spot seemed perfect for a family meal. Ordering food was a breeze. The attentive waiter promptly served us water along with a slip of QR code for easy ordering. We started with the smoked duck aglio olio. The pasta was cooked to perfection, al dente, with a generous portion of succulent smoked duck. The duck's smokiness blended harmoniously with the garlic and chili flakes, creating a savory yet slightly spicy dish that was both rich and satisfying. Next, we tried the fish n chips. The fish was incredibly fresh, undeniably a quality sea fish. It had a delicate, flaky texture and a mild flavor that paired beautifully with the light, crispy batter. The dish was accompanied by perfectly seasoned fries and a tangy tartar sauce, making it a delightful classic done right. We also ordered the Smoky BBQ Mozzarella Burger. The burger was a masterpiece – the smoky BBQ sauce added a deep, robust flavor, while the melted mozzarella provided a creamy, gooey texture that complemented the juicy beef patty. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, with the fresh lettuce and tomatoes adding a refreshing crunch. To mix things up, we decided to try the Thai basil leaf chicken. Unfortunately, this dish didn’t quite hit the mark. It lacked the authentic punch of Thai flavors we were expecting. The chicken was well-cooked, but the overall taste was somewhat muted and didn’t live up to the vibrant, aromatic profile typical of Thai cuisine. It felt a bit out of place compared to the stellar Western and Italian offerings. Despite the slight miss with the Thai dish, Allo by The Oats Cafe delivered an excellent dining experience. The fusion of Italian and Western cuisine was spot on, and the ambiance was perfect for a family outing. We would definitely recommend this restaurant, especially for their smoked duck aglio olio and Smoky BBQ Mozzarella Burger. Overall, we rate Allo by The Oats Cafe a solid 5 out of 5.

We aimed for this place to get the menu called Rebecca waffle, which comes with earl grey ice cream. But unfortunately it was not available today. So the beginning was a little sad, we tried something different for late breakfast around 10am. Our order: Hoji cha latte Gula Melaka boi Korean chicken and waffle Prawn-tastic muffin Hoji cha latte had a very earthy flavor. It felt even a little grainy. But I want something strong to wake my brain before a long day ahead, so this drunk was perfect today. Gula Melaka boi Pandan leaf worked as a unique addition to this iced espresso with coconut milk and gula. Different flavors come one after the other. Very interesting drink. My wife was bruising up the pandan leaf to release more flavor into the cup, and I thought it worked really well. Korean chicken and waffle Their chicken was juicy and waffle was fluffy. But my favorite part was the gochujang sauce. It was not as spicy as it looks, and even a little sweet as well. The sauce made it a unique chicken and waffle menu, but was still balancing all ingredients together. Very good. In my imagination, chicken and waffle should be with maple syrup. But they proved me wrong big time. Prawn-tastic muffin Except that my hands needed to be messy with dripping sauce, I had no complaint about this dish. Cole slaw salad was refreshing. The spicy mayo was not that spicy, but zappy enough to wake up my sleepy brain. Prawn was cooked with nice and firm texture, which I enjoyed. All green veggies added bitterness to it to balance out. It was a refreshing dish. So all foods we tried were good. I did not see one specific star dish on our table. Hopefully earl grey ice cream will come back soon.
