Hi
Thank you for your prompt service at the restaurant floor, dining and bar (also via whatsapp replies) Let me just get it straight to the point;
Food Since we went yesterday (December), they served only December Christmas Lunch Set. The choice was limited compared to Executive Lunch Sets.
Starters. There was only 3 choices (French Onion Soup, Seared Dive Scallop and Seared Foie Gras with Orange peeled mousse)
*Scallops was slightly cold *Seared Foie Gras to me in my opinion, it was not balanced. Foie Gras was good, seared well crusted on the outside, custard like texture on the inside. The sides was too much jelly like texture (orange mousse (too buttery and acidity was not there) and ginger jelly cut in cubes, also sliced and placed on a very small round toasted bread) was not proportionate with the foie gras. *this comment is based on my experience with Foie gras starters in many other restaurants. Equal portion of Foie gras of soft and hard crunchy texture is an excellent combo. Arte's Foie gras starters was not up to my expectation. Score 5/10
Main Course. With my personal choice of Australian Wagyu, served with side of Pomme Puree, Cauliflower, Brussel Sprouts & a side of caramelised onion sauce. It was ok. Again, not up to my expectation. I am a meat lover, and my Wagyu which i specifically ask for Medium, but the Wagyu they served was Medium Raw.. was not that great and not that bad. Just so-so. Pomme puree was pungent and sharp not creamy and was not a delight only finished quarter of it. Side vegetables was good. Score 5/10
Dessert. Oh gosh, the Christmas delight dessert is just a small rectangular cut shape of a chocolate sponge cake with chocolate icing on the top?? with small half cuts of grapes with i think spots of grape puree? The top chocolate icing was detached from the spongecake. Tried cutting through from the top, the hard icing fell of the cake. Spongecake was dry. Thanks for the puree to make it better(* doesn't look like a fresh baked cake) Was really disappointed with the dessert. (It is just the cake btw) Score 2/10
Drinks. As usual, expected overpriced drink menus. Again, I have many experience in the coffee industry especially the third wave coffee. Their overpriced coffee, Latte for RM 28 w/o tax or service charge ?? ;P. The coffee was just like the average cafe serving latte, and even the average cafe serving latte used good coffee beans but charge at a reasonable price. This is my preference when it comes to buy a RM28 coffee. (It has to be from a single origin roasted beans (medium roast), Farmhouse freshmilk, with at least a Rosetta art design on the latte, and perfect balance of heat, acidity and creaminess). Arte's latte has no Rosetta art (presentation FAIL), taste so-so. You should hire a proper Barista to at least present and make good coffee for that price of a coffee. Score 3/10
December Christmas Lunch Set. Estimated RM208++ per person Taste : 6/10 Price : 4/10 (Overpriced with the food served/limited choices) *additional 10% service charge and 6% SST
Restaurant Ambiance Interior Outlook : 8/10 Cleanliness : 7/10 *(dust on table decorative, stains on display plates on the table)
The place itself is beautiful, a great place to catch up with your loved ones for a quick luxury and opulence environment. Food taste wise was not that great like a high end michelin star restaurant and most of the listed food items are overpriced. Not really worth it if you want to experience a 'french cuisine cooked by a french chef in France' per say . The restaurant and bar itself just turns into a magical place because of their interior detailing of Versailles like, over the top opulence with 'painted' (more of printed then painted a bit) ceilings, bourgeois settings, etc etc,. Really good for photos for a change.
Overall score for Arte 66 Restaurant & Bar : 6/10 *my scoring reflects food taste more than environment/ambiance
Again lastly, this is my opinion and review on my experience at Arte 66. Hope this...

From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I knew I was about to be treated to something truly special. The atmosphere was intimate yet sophisticated, with an elegant interior that immediately set the tone for what would be an unforgettable evening. Every aspect of the décor, from the subdued lighting to the carefully curated art pieces, was clearly designed to enhance the ambiance and prepare guests for a world-class fine-dining experience.
Our meal was impeccably served by Mr. Ronald, whose professionalism and attention to detail elevated the experience to a new level of excellence. From the initial greeting to the very last course, his service was flawless. Mr. Ronald’s deep knowledge of the menu, including each dish’s origins, ingredients, and preparation methods, was incredibly impressive. He effortlessly provided detailed recommendations, perfectly matching our preferences and ensuring that every choice we made added to the evening’s brilliance.
The tasting menu at Arte was a work of art in itself, showcasing Chef Thomas Chan’s remarkable creativity and passion for gastronomy. Each course was beautifully plated and thoughtfully composed, featuring fresh, seasonal ingredients that came together in surprising and delightful ways. The journey began with an amuse-bouche that was both visually stunning and delicious—a delicate balance of flavors that set the stage for what was to come. The dishes that followed included a combination of bold flavors, delicate textures, and artful presentations that left us in awe with every bite.
Mr. Ronald’s timing was impeccable throughout the evening. He allowed us to savor each course at our own pace, providing just the right amount of space between dishes. This allowed us to fully appreciate the complex flavors and craftsmanship behind each creation. His understanding of when to engage and when to provide quiet, uninterrupted enjoyment was a testament to his experience and dedication to providing an unparalleled dining experience.
The highlight of the meal was the main course—a signature dish by Chef Chan that showcased his mastery of contemporary cuisine. Every element of the dish, from the seared protein to the accompanying vegetables and sauces, was executed with precision and artistry. It was clear that each ingredient had been selected with care and every technique meticulously applied to enhance its natural qualities.
Of course, the entire experience was elevated by the perfect wine pairings. Once again, Mr. Ronald’s expertise shone through as he presented each wine with a description that revealed his extensive knowledge and passion for oenology. His pairings were spot-on, enhancing the flavors of each course and adding another layer of complexity to the meal.
To conclude this remarkable journey, the dessert course arrived as a final masterpiece of flavor and presentation. A delicate interplay of sweetness, texture, and temperature, it left a lasting impression and brought the evening to a perfect close.
In summary, my dining experience at Arte by Thomas Chan was nothing less than extraordinary. The food was exceptional, the atmosphere was impeccable, and Mr. Ronald’s service was exemplary. He made us feel like honored guests, ensuring that every moment was perfect. It’s rare to find a restaurant where every detail is considered and executed with such precision and care, and Arte is certainly one of those gems.
I highly recommend Arte by Thomas Chan to anyone looking for an unparalleled fine-dining experience. I am already looking forward to my next visit and will certainly request Mr. Ronald’s service again. He truly embodies the excellence and passion that make Arte by Thomas Chan stand out as one of the best dining destinations I’ve ever had the pleasure of...
Read moreWhere do I start, food, the food i ordered with my partner are, the set lunch pricing at, RM158++ per person. When people say “you’re paying for atmosphere” that’s the only thing you’re doing here. The food’s very lack-lustre.
I had the wild mushroom risotto for appetiser, the risotto was over cooked, it became more towards porridge than risotto, there was no texture of the rice. To add on, the mushroom that was in the risotto itself seems to he shiitake instead of wild mushroom. The wild mushrooms were just the fried mushroom toppings. For a wild mushroom risotto, there wasn’t much mushroom in it and hence doesn’t have much of a mushroom flavour at all. 3/10
Next, the main course. I do not understand why the lamb shank was presented in such a way that it looks like food from a pub / cafe, rather than food for a place of established dining experience. The sides were all fried and they reused the tempura veggies for the appetiser (i ended up not eating it as it was too much) the rosemary braised lamb shank. Portion size was decent, it was pretty big but. The presentation really was disappointing. There wasn’t any hint of rosemary taste in the lamb as well but the lamb is soft I guess. But something tells me it was microwaved. Can’t confirm. 2/10
Dessert.. was cake of the day. Honestly, it was quite… abysmal. One sentence to describe it. It feels like a cafe from a buffet .1/10
For my gf’s meal. The foie gras was pretty good. It’s a decent portion size however you do need to supplement an extra RM45 for it.7/10
As for her main dish. Its. Okay… it was the duck confit. A bit on the dry end though. 5/10
Then the dessert… we ordered the flambé banana. Which was horrid as well. The flambé wasn’t done table side. It was across the dining hall. The sauce is drenched in orange juice and not much of anything else. The banana wasn’t even caramelised at all. The ice cream that came with the banana tasted like some cheap store bought vanilla ice cream and we had to supplement rm18 for this. -1/10
The service was a bit… rushed? The timing for service is a bit weird. My gf hadn’t even finished her appetiser and they served her main dish, sitting there getting cold next to her plate. The dessert however took so long to arrive. The flambé banana was not done table side and was nowhere to be seen. Aside from that. Its still okay 5/10
Atmosphere was nice. It’s pretty and what not. We got to walk around and take a look at the pool which was nice. The toilet was also pretty. However the lifts don’t make sense we didn’t know if CP1 was up or down to G floor and the lifts are rather slow. 6/10 for decor
All in all, best I would describe the experience is, the architects are good but the food feels uncared...
