Artisan Roast 2.0 The populat Artisan Roast Coffee in TTDI has a new home. Moving to the popular cafe street in Lorong Dato Sulaiman 7 less than 2km away from its original location, they are now focusing on the coffee beans, as well as their latest venture in the form of Seniman Cacao (chocolate products), offering both popular drinks together. Sadly they do not serve hot food anymore but limited to selected sandwiches, cakes and some pastries. ā—¾Pour Over Coffee - a choice between 1) nutty & chocolatey; 2) fruity or 3) Barista Selection .. tell them your preference and they'll make appropriate recommendation. I'm always a fan of fruit coffee hence #2. I love to watch them preparing my coffee slowly. ā—¾Hot chocolate by Seniman Cacao - their latest venture and their pure chocolate drink was very good! No sugar and dairy just the way I like my chocolate. They also sell chocolate bar in the outlet. This stretch of shops house a lot of cafes and Artisan Roast is just one of them. However, the quality of the coffee is consistently good and that's the reason why I go back from time to time.

This is THE best no-bake cheesecake in town! I've never failed to have a slice of their famous cheesecake whenever I'm there (and when it's available). Pro tip: Try not order take away for this cake. From experience, it WILL melt. The cheesecake is RM 12 a slice and I usually have this with a cuppa hot chocolate. Other popular items here is their coffee. My friends always go for their coffee. Take note that they do not serve food here. Strictly caffeinated beverages and cakes. One downside to the cafe is that it's almost always full. So seating is a headache. Other than that, I've no complains for the place (except when they run out of cheesecake!) P.S. Their chocolate drink and chocolate bars are made by the founders via Seniman Kakao (which literally translates to Artisan Chocolate). I've bought it before and I've got to say it's really good. It's RM 9/chocolate bar. Give it a go!

Came here for breakfast. The place is older and I'd been here many many years ago but more for the coffee than for food. Firstly, coffee is still good! Had a long black which was one of the better long blacks in a cafe (well pulled shot and not too much water) though it was on the slightly acidic side which I like. Wife had a piccolo which was also good though the espresso shot in hers seemed more acidic than mine. Food wise we had a big breakfast and savoury pancakes. Food presentation was good though food was underseasoned (which all things considered is better than over-seasoned). We especially liked the pancakes and I liked that it came with chickpeas (cooked and not from a can) instead of baked beans from a can. One downside, ordering a side of pancakes is expensive! Would suggest either a reduction in price or more pancake for the same. Will be back

Good coffee. The cakes are not so great though. Service is OK normally, but on my last visit, my friend decided to join me for coffee.

We wanted to sit outside as during Covid we prefer outdoor seating.

There were only 2 tables that's designated for 2 customers. The rest were meant for 1 customer per table. A couple were seated on one of the table. And a single lady was seated on the other table meant for 2.

I asked the staff politely if we can switch the tables as I'd like to sit with my friend. The staff said they can't do that.

So my friend and I had to sit separately, (and talk outloud since we were far apart, which is probably riskier to others if you ask me...)

.... and then.... the staff who was behind the counter, came out and sat with the single lady who was seated at the table meant for 2.

We were paying customers, about to purchase more drinks and probably more cakes if we were allowed to sit. But priority were given to the staffs friends.

Will think twice of coming back, as there are more options for good coffee...

I've been to a couple of Artisan's (Bangsar is really good) and was very disappointed with the customer service at this specific branch. I was double charged for my purchase and was more than happy to accept a replacement drink in lieu of cash because I was planning to finish some work in the shop later that afternoon. The store manager was not willing to give me a replacement drink because their payment system did not get my 2 transactions (while I was still double charged). Frustrated, I went to the bank next door and disputed the extra transaction which will take 2 months (will not be in KL then) to clear. Walked to FR Copper instead and enjoyed a dirty chai while writing this review. Hope they improve their payments and train their staff to understand that long term its better to give a customer a replacement drink (especially when they visit often) than say no and ask them to call bank/customer service to dispute claims (no one wants...
