The ever so popular eatery, specializing in steamed fish now has 3 outlet, the original one at Taman Connaught, another in Taman Midah and the latest one way over the other side of town in Bandar Menjalara, near Kepong. While the original outlet in Connaught is smack in the centre of a residential area, the latest outlet in Menjalara (about 2 years old now) is in the midst of mini town centre and so parking is not an issue! The menu is simple, with 4 choices of steamed fish (Signature, Soy, Bean Paste and Ginger Paste), Herbal Coconut, 5 choices of meat, 2 choice of Tofu and another 5 choices of vegetables. We ordered the steamed Wan Yee (body) with Ginger Paste, Signature Fried Chicken Wings, Signature Seafood Tofu, Stir Fried You Mak and Nai Pak. Service was very good. Staff were attentive, pleasant and quick. After 10 minutes, our orders were served one after another, in quick succession. The fish was piping hot when served and well cooked. It had no trace of “muddiness”, just the taste of fresh meat, blending with the “warm” and slightly spicy of the ginger blending nicely with the sauce. The Signature Chicken Wings was marinated in Nam Yu (Fermented Bean Curd) and their in-house batter. The chicken was crispy and had the slight hint of the subtle sweet and cheesy bean curd. A good combination. The Signature Tofu was another winner. Taste was sweet, with bit and pieces of seafood all blended together. No one taste overpowers all. Both the stir-fried vegetable was a good way to “clean” the palate between the 3 stronger dishes. Both were just cooked to perfection and sprinkled with light soy sauce and generous toppings of freshly cooked shallots! A plate of cut Dragon Fruit was also served at the end – compliments and on the House. Overall, the good was great, price was fair, service great! What more can...
Read moreI had an absolutely delightful dining experience at this seafood restaurant, and I can't help but give it a well-deserved 5 stars! Here's why:
The Ginger Steam Fish was a true masterpiece. It was incredibly tender and juicy, with absolutely no hint of any earthy taste. Each bite was a burst of flavor that left me craving for more.
The Red Bean Curd Nam Yue chicken was a revelation. A must-try for sure! The chicken was so tender and juicy, and the balance of the red bean curd flavor was impeccable. It wasn't overwhelming but added the perfect touch to this delectable dish.
The Seafood Tofu was a unique highlight that sets this restaurant apart. I couldn't find anything like it elsewhere. It was incredibly savory and delicious, a delightful combination of flavors that made my taste buds dance with joy.
Other than that, y’all definitely need to try the Coconut Chicken Soup. The distinctive combination of herb and chicken aroma is truly amazing. It’s so warming and fulfilling, especially you visit them after work, the homey and delightful taste relieve the tired mind, making you feeling “home sweet home”.
Overall, this seafood restaurant has truly impressed me with its exceptional dishes. If you're a seafood lover or simply someone looking for a remarkable dining experience, this place is a must-visit. I can't wait to return for another unforgettable meal!
Update 5 Feb 2025: I came here about a year ago, can’t believe the quality is still the same if not better!
It’s really superb quality, everything is just big portion and flavourful, just nice for young adult with big appetites, for 8 dishes (2 fishes, 1 prawn, 1 tofu, 1 fried chicken, 1 Lala, 1 vege, 1 pork only about RM400)
Really love the service and food...
Read moreSolid Chinese seafood spot specializing in fish head and whole fish dishes. Busy, closes early (9pm), and only accepts cash or e-wallet payments - no credit cards. Indoor and outdoor seating.
The menu is short and sweet. Three different types of fish to choose from and depending on the fish you may be able to specify how much you want of it in 100g increments. Carp was all that was left with one hour till closing, but that wasn't a problem, either. Incredibly tender whole fish (with head). Opted for the house special sauce and it was delicious. Tiny bit of spiciness but mostly just umami yumminess. Add either a small or large plate of rice to enjoy it with.
The rest of the menu is for those who don't want fish. Opt for sweet & sour pork, fried chicken wings, and fried tofu. The fried tofu was crunchy on the outside and piping hot and light on the inside. The specialty fried chicken wings were also very crunchy and steaming hot and tender on the inside.
Some soft drinks, bottled water or tea to drink. Considering how busy they are, food is served pretty quickly. When they say they close at 9pm, they mean it. You can sit and finish your meal but no new orders are taken and it's dinner time for the staff! Definitely would eat here again if I'm...
