We decided to drive all the way here to try this famous BKT. Let's begin by mentioning about the parking availability or the lack of it especially during peak hours so brace yourself for a little bit of walking to the shop. When we arrived, we were greeted by a full house of customers and some queueing. I liked how the lady boss spoke to us and other customers in a pleasant manner while making sure that everyone gets their table swiftly. For our first time visit today, we thought about sampling all their signature offerings so we ordered the BKT soup and dry pot as well as one serving of the yellow rice wine chicken with ginger. Food was served after a little bit of waiting but you'll get your yau zhar kwai and tofu pok first to whet your appetite. Starting with the BKT soup, it was very reminiscent of the kepong style in which the soup was light in texture with a hint of herbal taste and a noticeable peppery kick that becomes apparent at the back of your throat as you savor the soup. The addition of Chinese parsley or yin sai added a punchy aroma although it may not be to everyone's liking. The cuts of pork meat were flavorful, of good quality and mostly tender. They also throw in slices of pork belly instead of the usual chunky ones. Their rendition of BKT soup was a good hearty one although nothing about it truly intrigues me for more visits. I personally prefer the dry BKT more and I loved how the dried cuttlefish flavors and aroma effortlessly fuses with the dark soy sauce harmoniously. The pork meat was equally good and the flavors were strong so it goes really well with your rice. Speaking of rice, I recommend their yam rice because of how aromatic it was and the dried shrimps not only enhanced the flavors but also added a nice bite. Lastly, the rice wine chicken turned out to be an average one as I prefer mine to have a richer and thicker soup with a stronger gingery taste. The chicken cuts were fresh but sadly can...

Review for Restoran Heng Kee Delights Bak Kut Teh:
Restoran Heng Kee Delights Bak Kut Teh, known as the original "Kepong BKT", may not be worth the journey for non-locals.
The main dish, BKT, turned out disappointingly bland. Despite a long-standing appreciation for BKT, this particular preparation fell flat with its lack of robust flavors and an insufficient amount of coriander to enhance the taste. It's a disappointing 1 out of 5.
Their dry BKT didn't stand out either, matching the quality of most typical dry BKT found around Klang Valley. It was slightly on the good side of the taste spectrum, warranting a 3 out of 5.
However, the braised dishes, particularly the pork tendon, stood out with a distinctive flavor, enticing us to order a second pot. This dish scores a solid 4 out of 5.
In terms of ambiance, the place was okay despite being crowded, and the service was adequate. However, parking was problematic.
Overall, the experience at Restoran Heng Kee Delights Bak Kut Teh was a letdown, especially due to the disappointingly bland main dish. It felt more like eating pork in a clean soup rather than a proper, flavorful BKT. In my honest opinion, this place is overrated, and I'm unlikely to return for a...
Read moreDecent food but bad service. Tried their bak kut teh soup which tasted good with mild flavour. Suitable for those looking for a healthier option. Unfortunately our experience was marred by their awful service. Multiple staff saw us coming in and sitting down but all of them ignored us even though I called a few time to order. I had to get up myself and walk over to the boss and ask for my order to be taken. Even when our dishes arrived the waiter didn't being us plates or condiments. Again, even when I asked nicely. Once again I had to get up and get it myself. Plus they weren't even busy at that time. There was only 4 tables occupied and 3 was already served. I don't want to say its race related but there was another Chinese family that came in the same time as us and sat at the table beside us and they got proper basic service as one would've expected but we didn't. So do what you will with that...
