Oh my gosh the food here is suerb!! I go and order their porridge (the one with crab and peanuts inside) whenever I have a sore throat or fever😅. It tastes so good even though food doesn't taste good especially if you have fever right? But oh my gosh their porridge is THE BEST IN THE CITY!!! My mum needs to learn their recipe hehe. Other than that, their butter kaya bread is also so good!! The bread is crisped to perrrfection! I went to famous and oldest shops in Penang and stood for hours in queue since people claim they have the BEST butter kaya bread but uh-uh, here at Ming Kee Porridge I find the tastiest butter kaya bread. I would recommend you to try once. The butter just MELTS in your mouth.🤤🤤 I also eat their wantan mee, and I eat it with the prawn wantan soup. And as for drinks I order their yin yong and wolfberries tea👌🏼 Their duck is also really good! If you have any problems regarding food, you can always talk to the branch manager there and give them a chance to make you happy rather than posting bad reviews. It is airconditioned and yes a little crowded but that is because people love their food, the service is excellent, the food is excellent, the cleanliness is excellent. These are the reasons that I just LOVE to eat at their shop. Hope...

Their signature is porridge. What we like, however, are: 1). The roast meat. I.e., Duck, Crispy Pork, and BBQ Pork. 2). Kung Pao Frogs. 3). Braised Pork with Preserved Vegetables.

Menu is quite extensive so we will come back again to try others for sure. As they are already expensive by Kepong standard, it is hoped that there won't be anymore price increase in the near future.

It tends to get packed during dinner time on weekends so come early to ensure you get a table. Otherwise, expect to wait for your turn. In addition, inform the waiter right away as soon as you arrive because there is no wait list - some customers will try to "cut in line". We had the unfortunate experience on our last visit arguing with an Ah Beng who thought it was his God-given right to be ahead when he was the last amongst 4 customers to arrive.

Do note that the restaurant is cramp. Table arrangements are still the same as before MCO so you would only be about 2 feet away at most from your neighbor at the next table. They also do not keep taps of dine-in registrations. If these non-compliance of RMCO SOPs worry you, avoid. If not,...

order duck porridge but say no more duck. and then tell me if wanna eat duck need to order half of the duck.. my question is.. if you worry your duck sell separately and dont allow customer to order duck porridge then why u put that item in the menu? and duck drumstick noodle. duck drumstick rice.all unavailable. you might as well just sell half duck or whole duck in your shop . easy for everyone. people sit down and look at the menu for so long no one care to tell customer sorry we dont serve duck porridge unless you guys order half or whole. but wait till customer waste their time of considering the item and about to order only your worker tell us this dont have that dont have.. say unless you order half duck. i said i cannot finish the half duck. guess what. he reply me that he actually can help me to bukus and take away those i cant finish....

For supper I was craving some comforting chok and seeing the good reviews, I went. To my disappointment, the chok was very salty and lacked the characteristic of chok, which was to absorb the flavors of the ingredients. I ordered fish chok and pork ribs chok and they both tasted the same except that one had pork ribs and the other, fish with earthy taste. I had to ask for hot water to dilute the saltiness of the chok, yet could not finish it. It is a pity because I went to this restaurant with high expectations but was left disappointed.

Nice branch of this bbq roasted meat place that serves very good wanton noodles and porridge. Roast duck has a light dong gui herbal flavour and well seasoned. A little chewy but then some like it this way. The char siew is good. Savoury with a touch of sweetness. The roast pork is very crispy with just the right amount of fat. You will notice that all the mince meat is not machine made but actually chopped with a knive. Very good texture. Very heavy crowd during lunch time and also roadside parking is limited. All in an enjoyable meal.
