So my family and I had two chickens for dinner last weekend at this restaurant.
One Chicken Pot The chicken pieces are boiled along with a plate of cabbage, eryngii and golden needle mushrooms. It's best to keep the fire to a minimum once the veggies are cooked so that you don't end up with hard and tough chicken meat. It was a tasty dish as the chicken tasted good and the soup went well with white rice. It's a plain looking soup that is full of flavors.
Seaweed Rice Ball You can have a choice of the aforementioned or porridge to go with your chicken pot. I chose this. There's only 4 balls per plate. This is a good choice as the rice are adequately seasoned with the seaweed.
Fried Chicken This was ok for me. It's considered plain fried chicken by Korean standard as it's not those trendy k-fried chicken that is laden with highly processed sauces, flavored powder and is sweet like candy. Never like those. So I was more than happy that it was just plain but of course, there are better fried chicken.
Pan Fried Chicken Gizzards with Garlic I like this one a lot. Another great dish to have with rice. It was chewy without being tough. It was well seasoned so it tasted great. Full of praise for this one.
Deep fried chicken feet skin The restaurant used the same batter for the fried chicken on this. It was fine but the ratio of the batter is the same if not more to the chicken feet skin. So you're just eating batter that has a chewy texture.
It's not cheap as everything came to over RM300 with just one decaf latte. The food is good overall and if there's a cause for a celebration in your family, this restaurant could be a nice setting for a family get together and share some chicken goodness over a pot. Maybe two. Make it three if you've...
Read moreTraditional Whole Fried Chicken is very well done. Crispy on the outside, soft and juicy on the inside. Reminds me of the ones I had in Korea. Size wise, it is enough for a couple to share (if you are ordering another dish), can easily finish the entire chicken.
Fried Boneless Chicken Feet is seasoned and fried well too. The flavour is really great. Sadly, the consistency is not there. There is certain pieces that are very salty and spicy, and some that are bland. Some are crispy and easy to chew, while some are really rubbery and inedible.
The good pieces really live up the expectation, but the pieces that are not done well would be the reason for the missing star.
Sauce wise, I will appreciate if more variety are given. The Whole Chicken comes with chilli sauce, seasoning powder, and pickled reddish. The Chicken Feet comes with the same chilli sauce and pickled reddish, with the addition of honey.
Service is attentive and quick, the restaurant feels very welcoming and comfortable. Deco is minimalist and done tastefully. Tablewares and appliances are top of the line (Dyson, Coway, etc.).
For parking, there’s a row of valet available right outside the shop at RM15. Otherwise, park inside Solaris at basement (Block K), the block K lift will bring you right in front of the shop.
Definitely will be back for the Whole Chicken as well as other menu items. Will rate it a 5 star if the Fried Boneless Chicken Feet lives up to expectation the next...
Read moreservice is 6 out of 5.. food is between 4 to 5.. one whole chicken pot is enough for 2 pax unless you really can eat a lot.. it comes with the spring chicken.. a lot of veggies.. even noodles omfg.. then riceball or porridge.. can claim ice cream too if you register membership with them.. the seats are not packed all together which is kind of cozy.. they even have one small private room upstairs.. excellent service even ask you want to take photo before cutting the chicken up.. but the shop might be hard to find if you're not familiar with this area.. it's actually just behind the coffee shop at the roundabout area.. end up we have to da bao some of the fried chicken and the soup chicken back..
