On first impression, the shop looks like Five Guys, with the checkered red/white tiles, red booths. They specialize in chicken sandwiches. The menu is simple and friendly with main choice of fried chicken OR fried chicken sandwich. I went for the Fried Chicken + waffles, OG sandwich, and a Peanut Butter milk shake.

Fried Chicken = 4/5 Above average. Better than KFC, MCD, Texas. There's some sprinkle of spice on top of it that gives it extra flavor. Meat is still juicy.

Waffles = 4.5/5 I think the waffles are just well done. Decently thick batter. Comes with maple syrup and jam. Beats A&W anytime. Good job on this!

OG sandwich = 3.5/5 As a signature dish, I feel this is abit of a let down. It's like a regular small sized bun. Insufficient toppings IMHO. Patty is crispy and crunchy, meat is juicy, has a little bit of burnt smell. But for RM20.5 I expect better than this. Where this stands, I'd probably priced it at RM15. Burger Lab's chicken sandwich is better and cheaper and they are not even the best. The best chicken sandwich IMHO is Woodfire.

Crack Fries = 4/5 It reminds me Five Guy's Cajun Fries. Not the best, but it's good. Still lose out to Burger Lab's Fries though. I ordered the combo set, and the fries comes in a mini paper docket similar like how McD's smallest sized fries are. I also had to add RM2 for the Crack Fries. I don't mind the add-on price, but the quantity is just too little. Tip: Ditch the paper pocket. Fill up at least half the sandwich basket with it. Be generous about it if you're charging that much.

Peanut Butter milk shake = 4/5 Rich and creamy. First time having Peanut butter shake. I think it's unique. Comes in a nice fancy glass....

Restaurant disaster or management failure?(Fowl boys Desa Sri Hartamas)

Came to visit fowlboys on a saturday evening for the first time only to meet with disappointment. Fowlboys have been on the conversation for nashville hot fried chicken in Kuala Lumpur among my friends and have decided to visit the establishment. The restaurant has a neon red decor with a diner-like interior, requires to scan QR code to view menu.

Og fried chicken and fried chicken took approximately 30-35 minutes to arrive and the (Marvin’s Room)waffle took an awful hour to be served. When the food has arrived, our ice in the southern ice tea has melted away and became a watery mess. The chicken is nicely cooked and the fries were decent.

When I enquired a malay male staff(who had worn glasses and a beard with a hat) regarding the arrival of the waffle, he has not only failed to satisfy my question, he never even attempt to apologize for the late arrival and came up with a rather idiotic answer. After 55 minutes, I have asked the same staff regarding the arrival of the waffle and he seems to be in a rather defending behaviour than trying to make up for the situation. Thankfully, another male staff( who had worn a red t-shirt) came to our table much later and apologize for the situation. However, by then our experience has already been terrible.

The management has not only failed to educate their service staff but also in the food timing. Anyone with a Food and Beverage background should understand the very basic of the business. Overall a...

I’ve always been a fan of Fowlboys, so I was very excited to try out the new location in Hartamas.

However, I was very much disappointed with my experience there. First of all, it took them 10 minutes just to take our orders. It would have been more efficient if we ordered at the counter outside, and picked up our food inside. Instead, the worker at the front insisted we took a seat first.

I ordered an OG chicken sandwich combo and wicked wings. The price was very high considering how small the portions were (RM30 for three chicken wings is crazy!). They only served a handful of fries and the extra RM2 for chili powder for the crack fries was not worth it. It took them 20 minutes to prepare our OG sandwich meals.

The wicked wings took an additional 30 minutes after receiving our sandwiches. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that they probably forgot our wings. When we inquired about our wings, they did not give an estimated time of how long it would take or apologize for a long delay.

The taste of the food was really good though, and the decor and aesthetic are very pleasing. But, the efficiency and price are not at the same level. It’s probably because they are understaffed and the high price would be due to inflation. I really hope they work on this because it used to be one of my favourite places to get a good...
