A shadow of its former self. They are really not helping themselves to make me score higher. Ordered a few items but primarily critiquing the Biggie Breakfast, Jibby Last Benedict. Double Cheeseburger, crispy buttermilk chicken on brioche, margherita pizza, Fluffy and sweet potato fries with sweet chili jam.
Staff - They are mostly on one side of the restaurant which makes it difficult to call the waiter when I was seated at the other end of the restaurant. A compliment is they did not make any mistake on the order.
Food - The food is god awful slow sending out. Context arrived at the restaurant at 12p.m. There was only one other table occupied in that restaurant but I wasted a total of roughly 1 hour 30 minutes mostly waiting for the food. A main was sent early but the remainder was 40 minutes+ minimum and the final main was sent 1 hour+. a) Biggie Breakfast - The scrambled egg was so salty that it had to be sent back to the kitchen. After sending it back, it took a minimum of 10 minutes before getting it back, unsure why for scrambled eggs. The beef strips were also salty but because the food was sent so late I could not care anymore. Jibby Last Benedict - The Hollandaise sauce is sour, the chef had way too much fun pouring acid onto it. b) Double Cheeseburger - It was nothing special which was disappointing. Pretty slow to be delivered and it was already cold, no juices oozing. A bit too thick, could’ve flatten it a bit to make it the same size as the bun. c) Crispy Buttermilk Chicken on Brioche - didn’t taste it but mostly critiquing the period to receive it. A deep fried chicken piece served as a sandwich; but somehow took more than an hour to receive. d) Margherita pizza - The pizza is good, a cheesy experience. Critique this aspect because the waiter or manager informed the pizza would take an hour to be received but we were okay with it. However, the pizza is the third item to be served. Did not give a good sign on our dishes not being served efficiently. e) Fluffy - The dish was okay but the pancakes were not great. Primarily because the pancake felt dense and it tasted like a cake. f) Sweet Potato Fries with Chili Jam - A shocker that it was sent pretty late because it is just fries. The Chili Jam is alright but a bit too sweet for my taste as compared to regular chili sauce.
The manager tried to pamper us with free ice cream which was nice but a critique is still needed in order for the restaurant to improve. The cons heavily outweigh the pros. Tried offering some kind of dessert that said would arrive within 5 minutes but that too they are not able to uphold their word. Keep in mind spending almost 2 hours in a restaurant for subpar food would not make any person keep a positive mindset.
Final Verdict. A disappointing experience, the prices of certain foods increased by a wide margin but the service quality decreased in the process. Hopefully a reassessment is able to be conducted to improve the quality to retain its sustainability especially the quality control by...
Read moreReservation: 16/9/2020, 6pm. Really bad birthday experience. Fiancé booked a table for two to celebrate my birthday. Unfortunately we were given the table next to the place where they make their tea/coffee etc. Waiters pass by behind us all the time, and the table is next to the walkway where customers come and go. The table placement was a very uncomfortable table to dine in. Restaurant was packed, I didn’t think we would get another table even if we ask so I made peace with that fact and just try to enjoy my evening.
But this second thing is worse than the first. Before we place our order, we heard they play the happy birthday song multiple times, I just ignored it cause surely it was for the customers at the back tables. Suddenly around the 3rd or 4th time the birthday song is playing, a waiter comes to our table with a pavlova written happy birthday on it and gave it to me. The other tables and my fiancé played along and sang to me and I blowed the candle on that cake. I thought they arranged a surprise for us. After all, we did come to celebrate my birthday. BUT WAIT, WE DIDNT EVEN PLACE OUR ORDER YET. I was happy and took pictures with the cake, they gave us 2 forks to enjoy the cake. Mind you, we were still looking at the menu when suddenly... a waitress came to our table and said “Oh you haven’t ordered yet right. I’m sorry but there was a mistake, this cake is not for your table” Then she proceeds to TAKE BACK THE CAKE THAT THEY GAVE US WHILE EVERYONE SANG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME, THE CAKE THAT I ALREADY TOOK PICTURES WITH, THE CAKE THAT I ALREADY BLOWED THE CANDLE ON!
I have sooo many questions. What are they gonna do with the cake?? Take it back and give it to another customer?? The cake that I already blow?? In this pandemic??!! What if I had corona, did they think about that?? How about hygiene?? Even if we are not in the middle of a pandemic, is it right to take back a cake that u already gave to the customer, is it hygienic?!!! I was so shocked!!
A few moment after that, the birthday song is played again and guess what. It was for the table next to us. So I guess they meant to send to that table but got the wrong table. Idk if the next table got the cake that I blowed just now or they got a new one. But let me tell you, this incident really ruined my evening. I feel my face so hot when they took back the cake. I was excited for it, it was my birthday dinner after all. For all I know, I would never ever forget this bad experience. I didn’t think such incident would happen at a place that serves such good food with middle to high price range.
If they told us it was a mistake and they might have to charge us if we still want the cake, we really wouldn’t mind paying. But the thing is, we didn’t ask for it, we got it, we were happy, and they take it back. How do u think I feel. Anyhow, food was okay but I didn’t really have the...
Read moreI recently celebrated my youngest son's birthday at Jibby East for the second time, and I must say, it's a place that sets the stage perfectly for memorable moments. Nestled in a serene location, Jibby East boasts an inviting ambiance that is ideal for anniversaries, birthdays, or a romantic dinner with your loved ones.
As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by a warm and cozy atmosphere. Soft lighting, elegant decor, and comfortable seating created an intimate setting that immediately put us at ease. The spacious layout allowed for privacy while still maintaining a vibrant energy. The charming interior design with its modern yet rustic touches added to the overall appeal.
Now, let's talk about the food. Our culinary journey at Jibby East began with The Caesar Salad, which was fresh and flavorful. The crisp lettuce, tangy dressing, and generous toppings made for a delightful appetizer.
For the main course, we ordered the Mexican Seafood Grill, a tantalizing combination of perfectly cooked seafood accompanied by vibrant flavors. The freshness of the ingredients and the expert grilling technique truly shone through.
Next, we opted for the Pan-Fried Salmon Steak. The dish was a triumph, with the salmon cooked to perfection, offering a delicate and moist texture. The flavors were enhanced by a harmonious blend of herbs and spices, making it a true delight for seafood enthusiasts. However, I must mention that the Double Cheese Burger fell slightly short of expectations. The beef was overcooked, resulting in a texture that was a bit too hard. It would be advisable for the chef to pay closer attention to the cooking time of the beef in this particular dish.
Moving on to the Margherita Pizza, it was a disappointing experience. The pizza crust tasted reminiscent of a frozen supermarket pizza, lacking the freshness and authenticity one would expect. The flavors were lackluster, failing to capture the essence of a traditional Margherita Pizza.
On the bright side, the wait service at Jibby East was commendable. The staff members were attentive, polite, and knowledgeable about the menu. They provided prompt assistance whenever needed, further enhancing our dining experience.
In terms of pricing, Jibby East falls within the upper middle range. While it may not be the most budget-friendly option, the quality of the food and the overall experience justify the investment.
Despite the slight shortcomings with the Double Cheese Burger and Margherita Pizza, the overall dining experience at Jibby East was enjoyable. The welcoming ambiance, coupled with the delectable dishes and excellent service, make it a restaurant worth revisiting. I look forward to returning to Jibby East to explore more of their culinary offerings and create more cherished memories...
