We arrived at Kai Sheng around 6 PM to find a moderate crowd already dining, but soon the small establishment filled up with families, friends, couples, and solo diners. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, and while it lacks air-conditioning, it is well-ventilated. The attentive lady boss promptly took our orders, and our food was served within 5 to 10 minutes. The Dry Ba Ku Teh (RM18) was an exquisite blend of savoury and smoky, with decent portions of tender pork belly, leaner cuts of meat, pork stomach and okra which paired perfectly with a steaming bowl of rice. Their Claypot Ba Ku Teh (RM18) on the other hand had a variation of tofu skin, tofu puffs, pork belly, lean meat as well as pork ribs. The soup was sweet and herbalicious, not too peppery or overwhelming which suited our tastebuds. They also provided complimentary refills of the Ba Ku Teh soup without us requesting. Highly recommend ordering a portion of their You Tiao (RM2.50) that can be enjoyed by soaking it in the soup or savouring it on its own. This dough fritter is better than even some shops specializing in selling it — surprisingly crunchy and savoury without being overly hard. The Braised Tofu with Minced Meat (RM18.50) was a standout, with a flavorful sauce and soft, silken tofu that melts in your mouth. The Stir Fried Yau Mak (RM9) tasted fresh with a delightful light crunch to each bite, whilst the Onion Fried Egg (RM10) was simple although didn't leave a very lasting impression and lacked umami. Overall, the quality of food is good, everything is fresh and tasty, and the service is efficient.

Food - ordered both the soup and dry bah kut teh with youtiao. Soup is balanced, not overly peppery or too herbal. I like the dry version more, meats are not overly fat, and tastes more flavorful. What surprised me was the youtiao, really crunchy. Service - our order was taken quickly and we didn’t have to wait long for food to be served. Swift and efficient. We arrived early before 7pm, then it was easy to get a table. But people started streaming in after 7pm, and the place filled up quickly. Noticed customers were mainly families who frequent the place. Seemed like the boss knew them and greeted them cheerfully. Atmosphere - it’s a small shop lot, not too many tables. Not much decorations either. But the place was clean and comfortable. Happy to visit again if I need a BKT fix.

Came across this shop for a few times and finally gave it a try. It was not bad! There are a few sets for you to choose from for bak kut teh with very reasonable price. We go for the basic soup bak kut teh set that comes with a single portion of bak kut teh in soup with some pork ribs, pork belly, mushroom, beancurb skin & vege serve with a small portion of you tiao & 1 single rice & chinese tea for RM12 nett. Portion is generous! Soup tasted good and not super heavy in flavor, just the way I like it. Service was prompt and so far so good for all. Parking can be abit challenging but its better on weekend. Hard to find bkt for such price point in KL nowadays. So this is a rare find!

Very dishonest restaurant, I was scammed. I went there for take out a total of 3 times. The 1st time I made my request for 3 pork parts and I received the correct pork parts and the portion was normal. The 2nd time I went for takeout, I requested the same pork parts, but what I received was less than half of what I received previously, yet at least I got the pork parts I requested, however I was charged the same amount as previously. The 3rd time and the final straw was where I ensured the one who took my order recorded my request of 3 pork parts properly and surely. However this time, they completely ignored my request and did not gave me any of my 3 pork parts and instead i only received 1 unrelated pork part that was also very less in portion, and charged me the same as the 1st time. If anything, I do not recommend taking out, it is best to dine in and check the portion, and no I will not be returning...
