This was months ago when they were still testing their menu so it might have changed significantly. So take my review with a pinch of salt.
Visited with a few of us, and we all tried a little of something. Starting off I ordered the peanut butter and jelly sandwich, I didn’t like it because they used crunchy peanut butter and their jam was pretty tasteless in my opinion. The smoke salmon rice bowl was great though, I loved the smoky notes it was infused with.
The drink I had was a mocktail, it was pricey and all it tasted like was the sour plum drink we can get anywhere else, so I wouldn’t recommend, but it was pretty to look at. The raspberry latte was slightly infused with raspberry flavoring and I loved it, the hint of tartness with the creamy coffee was something I’ve never tried before.
Lastly the dessert, we had a strawberry cream puff. It was fluffy and the cream was just the right sweetness. Perfect dessert to finish everything off.
Atmosphere was soothing but a little too dim in my opinion. The decorations really carried the entire feel. The table we sat at was not practical at all though, it had holes everywhere and we couldn’t put things on the uneven spaces, making it difficult to enjoy without feeling like your drink...
Read moreWent there last Saturday for Brunch, managed to get the last seats there. First look, nice and cozy environment, though the seats were a little odd for us
The food was pretty good, we order the Salmon Ochazuke, Spam Sandwich, and the Cold Pasta. Overall, we liked both Ochazuke and Spam Sandwich. Though I would like to comment a little on the Ochazuke's broth, it was not warm enough, and the Cold Pasta is a little too cold for us. Then again, it may be how they served.
As for drinks, we ordered a Nitro Coffee and a Hojicha Latte. Hot drinks may take slightly a little time for them to make, but bear in mind that they're using a single group espresso machine, hence the delay, but it was understandable. Nitro Coffee was interesting, just like apple juice with coffee and a hint of rosemary (fear, not rosemary haters, you probably won't notice it) :))
As for service, the staff were friendly and attentive, thought the food came faster than the drinks, but staff still came over to apologize, though it was really alright.
Overall, it was a pretty good experience. It's worth a visit. But as you may know, parking would not be convenient, as it's in connaught (one of the busiest...
Read moreUPDATED REVIEW:: had to downgrade a star due to the overall experience today; just a room for improvement compared to my last experience came in earlier but the 2 customers after me got seats instead; rationalising that it could be not enough baby seats / due to the height of baby seat not compatible with the available table (can still be communicated better or have a better queue system) same food was ordered but the portion for salmon had a smaller cut and the curry was abit bland and watery today matcha latte was abit too thick for me today but after the ice melted it tasted normal, maybe cause I ordered less ice
PREVIOUS REVIEW:: Another place with good food and good vibes!! The texture of the salmon ochazuke was just nice and comparable with the one Tsuka Gardens with a slight price difference. The taste and texture of the curry was spot on!
The matcha and hot chocolate did not disappoint along with such nice latte art!
Worth the price?...
