Extra chili will be charged, no serviette provided, need to purchase at rm 0.30 per pack. In short, you pay for what you don't have to at most establishments out there.
No tax, service charge, just clean nett price as in the menu. Pay when food is served! Accept e-wallet.
There was a q when we got there but we were quickly shown a table after just 5 mins. Parking as usual is horrid in this area. Overall, a just ok weekend brekkie. come again? don't think so!
(2019) I tot the crowd would have died down after the many years of hype but I was wrong! I have to wait for almost 10 mins for a table. The place was super packed! Orders taken and we waited close to 20 mins for our orders to arrive. We had :- a) Chili Pan Mee w/o egg @ RM6.50/large - Just as nice b) Chili Pan Mee w egg @ RM6.60/small - This version is almost certain to have a more slippery noodle with the 1/2 egg added and mixed on. A squeeze of lime together with the mixture of dried chillies is superb! c) Yee Mee soup w egg @ RM6.60/small - So so only, d) Curry laksa noodle @ RM6.60/small - aromatic and filled with coconut flavor. The soup is a tad savoury but addictive. The chicken pieces were way overcooked and dry. There's snake beans, tofu puffs and half a hard boiled egg. No cockles.
There's not much changes to the place except that you won't get to see the chatty Madam Chiam that often as she's retired and taking life easy, leaving the outlet to the next gen. I was glad she's around today that we managed to catch up a little! I also realised that they no longer place tubs of chillies on each table where you may help yourself to. U have to request for additional serving. Still...

Rating: ★★★★☆
A visit to Madam Chiam Curry Noodle House in Taman Connaught is frequently an adventure in palate pleasure. The ambrosial essence of their curry noodles has a delicate finesse—it is light, neither excessively rich or unbearably salty—which allows the authentic curry flavours to shine through. The blend of aromatic spices that invents their magnificent curry noodles does not hold back.
Moreover, the Pan Mee, served with a refreshing slice of lime, deserves special mention as well. It treads the fine line of flavour and lightness superbly well. A delightful break from heavier, oil-laden noodle dishes, it was exceptionally tasteful without burdening the palate.
Additionally, the sui kaus (dumplings) made their mark by being richly seasoned and properly marinated. Each bite was delightful, a gourmet explosion of well-balanced savoury flavours.
Madam Chiam Curry Noodle House manages to combine traditional preparation with discerning ingredient selection, resulting in a menu that will surely titillate the taste buds. Their offerings, while light on the stomach, do not compromise on taste.
If there is any room for criticism, it's only their potential for more. One leaves Madam Chiam's not just satiated, but eagerly anticipating the culinary surprises the next visit might bring. The breadth and depth of their traditional menu beckons, and I look forward to trying even more of their...
Read moreHeard Madam Chiam serves up one of the best Chilli Pan Mee around, so we popped over on a Thursday morning to try it out, where many patrons were already dining in. The lady boss will take your order upon seating. The Pan Mee and drinks arrived rather quickly, but our remaining portion of Curry Pork Ribs required us to chase the waiters multiple times, something the kitchen had clearly forgotten about. Chilli flakes are served in miser little sauce plates, ordering an extra amount will be charged. Tissues are not easily available for patrons, unless you pay 30 cents at the counter.
The small Chilli Pan Mee with Egg (RM9.50) had a good texture to the noodles, but the taste was pretty mediocre. Portions of minced pork and anchovies felt insufficient and disproportionate to the noodles, making this bowl of Chilli Pan Mee slightly bland. The egg makes the noodles very creamy, but also a little watery. Perhaps it's because we ordered the small portion, so the amount of runny egg whites overpowers the noodles. The chilli wasn't remarkably fragrant nor spicy either. We also ordered a portion of Curry Spare Ribs (RM10) that arrived when we were almost done with our food. The curry was decent, rich with coconut milk and fragrant with spices. It comes with a few pieces of potatoes, and pork ribs that are cooked tender. Though nothing spectacular. Overall, not a bad bowl of noodles but definitely not the best. Super Kitchen is right...
