I had shrimp burger with salad as side (originally the menu includes fries, but I opted out). The shrimp burger is so good and huge! Don't expect to taste fresh shrimp though from a steak restaurant, but the patty was generously filled with shrimps! The burger bun was nicely crispy on th inside, well- buttered. The salad could do with a dressing that shows more effort instead of plain mayo to compliment star of the dish
My friends had Angus steak. To begin with we weren't informed that we could go and choose our own cut, so they both ended up being served a huge chunk of steak which ultimately led to a whooping bill. Still, while the cook on my friend's steak was on point medium rare, there was no jus or gravy which due to being underseasoned - were very much needed. There was only a piece of garlic bread (which was good) and the same salad that was on my plate
We also had mushroom soup - homemade mushroom soup made with fresh milk I think. I can be wrong though, but the usual richness from using cream was missing but it was okay
I had garlic mash and it was nicely seasoned. The portion would be good for two too
I guess this place would be one that you might enjoy burgers more than their steaks, but taste is...
Read moreThe meat that they sell certainly tastes quite good, though would recommend that you have their burgers as I do feel people will feel they are getting their value for money. Not completely dismissing the steaks as they are quite good, but I feel that, for the price, you do not get as much as you should ala. you just get a steak, garlic bread and a generous amount of condiments. That's it.
The staff are good most of the time, but did experience once or twice fairly grumpy looking guys serving me. Yesterday I was greeted by such staff, and left with a fairly unpleasant experience at this place. if there's room for improvement, Las Vacas Mont Kiara, its your staff.
Great food, value for money more for their burgers and their staff are hit or miss - they're nice guys don't get me wrong, but to me a few of them seem like they don't like...
Read moreThis place used to be phenomenal but the change of ownership killed this place. They no longer serve beer with your steaks!!! Mont Kiara and no beer with steaks is just stupid business move. Secondly, the steaks.. sigh what can I say but a prayer for the days they used to serve the best steaks in the area. Now, their steaks are tasteless (washout) and only marginally edible with lots of mustard and salt. No more garlic bread either and instead they substituted it with boring supermarket-bought french fries. No wonder this place is mostly empty nowadays and when we went, there were only one other table having burgers. With new competition right across the street (chilli's which surprisingly cooks better), Las Vacas might as well close down if they cannot learn to cook...
