Heard about the fantastic reviews, I had decided to bring my girlfriend for a steak at the restaurant.
Our first courses were the oxtail and the mushroom soup. To be honest, I would give a 5/10 for the mushroom soup. The oxtail soup, however was bland (2/10 for some taste).
Now to the main course. We ordered one Angus Rib Eye and one plate of Roast Lamb. This is unfortunately one of the greatest letdown in a restaurant. My girlfriend specifically ordered rare to test the skill of the chef. Unfortunately, it was extremely disappointing to be given a steak which was raw, and not cooked rare. The chef in the kitchen had totally failed the test. Secondly, it was charred. We didn't return the steak for we know it will be medium rare when it returns. The Roast Lamb was another letdown - it was average. Both the Steak and the Lamb were a total letdown for the hype they were given. Both unfortunately don't have a rating in the scale of 10.
We ordered a mud chocolate cake. Immediately, you can taste that the cake is dry indicating it came out of the microwave. When the plate was hot, they put the ice cream on the other half of the plate - that is why the ice cream melted quickly when it was on our table. This shows the standards that Maria Steakhouse offered to customers at a very, very high price. We didn't mind paying a lot for the quality of meat that was served but the quality and effort put in to cooking them was a shame, it indicated a severe compromise in standards in exchange for profit.
For a fraction of the price I paid, I could have dined at Anne Elizabeth in Cheras. I wholly recommend those who are serious Western cuisine enthusiast to try this deli. Trust me, that is a real steakhouse!! Food is truly spot on.
I will never return to Maria's, even for free food. Such a huge, huge letdown for so much money spent. What a...
Read moreMy visit to Maria's Steakhouse on Sunday, 23 July, was an absolute delight! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a cozy ambiance that set the tone for a wonderful dining experience. Maria's truly lives up to its reputation as the best steakhouse in KL, offering a culinary journey that is both satisfying and memorable.
The steaks were the highlight of the meal. Cooked to perfection, they were served simply with roasted potatoes and sautéed vegetables, allowing us to relish the pure, unadulterated flavor of the premium beef. Each bite was a revelation of bovine goodness that left us craving for more.
What impressed us further was the impeccable service, with the friendly and attentive staff hailing mostly from the Philippines. Their warmth and hospitality added to the overall positive experience.
The food selection catered to all occasions. For group dining, Maria's proved to be the best in KL, with a menu to suit various budgets and flexible seating arrangements. And for those seeking a romantic setting, look no further! Maria's SteakCafe provides the perfect ambiance for celebrating special moments with loved ones.
As for our meal, the Fried Camembert with Cranberry Sauce tantalized our taste buds with its beautiful texture and wonderful taste. The Hereford Rib-Eye was tender, juicy, and cooked splendidly to our specifications. The Grilled Salmon Fillet was incredibly fresh, tasty, and juicy, while the extra order of Mashed Potatoes completed our delightful feast.
Maria's Steakhouse is a culinary gem in Bangsar that never fails to deliver on its promise of "simply good food from start to end." The experience was beyond our expectations, and we look forward to returning for more exceptional dining moments at Maria's, the epitome of a fantastic...
Read moreWe used to be here for all sorts of celebration with family up to 8 or 10 person because of the quality of their steak and chef, also the services. But last week I have been again with my family to celebrate my dad’s birthday, things had changed. Services are still good, steak is good, but the quality of chef seriously need improvements. We ordered lamb cutlets and so, 2 Wagyu 5 steaks (250gm & 270gm), wanted it to be served medium well but both served medium rare. We talked to the staff and they brought it back to the kitchen, then came back with a charred steak which the sides of the steak became dried. One of it is really unacceptable and we reflected to the staff, again. This time they offered to switch with another steak (230gm) which we wanted it to be done in Medium. Ended up when everyone finished their dishes, the steak was served after another great 10minutes. Staff mentioned wanted us to cut it half to show if they cooked it perfectly how we wanted. Maria’s disappoint us by serving a near to rare, it’s not even blue (still cost me around RM230). Staff knew that wasn’t what we asked for, so told us Chef grilled the steak the way he wanted, and it was cooked according to the tenderness of the meat. WOW. If it is so, whats the point of you asking me how would I like the steak to be done?
They replaced with 230gm steak that is not up to the standard but still charged us the price of 270gm. I don’t get it.
Tbh we didn’t enjoy the dinner at all. Overall, Maria’s ruined our mood for the celebration. After this experience, i don’t think i will be back again. Not recommended due to quality control and the way staff handle the issue. Huge...
