Murni Discovery Kepong is the fifth branch I’ve visited so far, and I came here on 10/08/25. It’s very close to MRT Kepong Baru, within walking distance, which makes it convenient to get to. The place isn’t as large as the Bukit Jalil or Cheras branches, but still decent in size. For a Sunday lunch, it was about half full, and despite that, orders were taken quickly and the food came out fast.
We ordered Nasi Goreng Tom Yum with Cajun Chicken Chop, and Aglio Olio with Grilled Chicken Chop. For drinks, I had Iced Asam Boi and Iced Nescafe. The Nasi Goreng was tasty, full of spice, and not oily. The Cajun Chicken was seasoned well and tender, though honestly, it wasn’t that different from the normal Grilled Chicken Chop , I only ordered it since this branch offers it. The Nasi Goreng portion was huge, so take note before ordering.
The pasta, on the other hand, was very oily and heavily drenched in black pepper. The seafood seasoning was minimal, so it felt a bit bland, although they were generous with both the pasta and seafood. The Grilled Chicken Chop was up to the usual Murni standard.
The drinks were good, though I expected the Iced Asam Boi to be more refreshing. It ended up tasting like plain water with Asam Boi flavour, which was a bit underwhelming, haha.
Ambience-wise, it’s more suited for comfort eating rather than dating or hanging out. Still, like any other Murni, I’d always recommend it for its portion size,...
Read moreMurni dacovery, i made my visit today on 30/6/2017. After driving here for 3 straight days finally you are open today. Should you feel to close your restaurant please put a sign at the front on when you will continue your operations.
I am a regular customer, i've been coming to your restaurant for nearly 2 years and my visit has been mad twice to thrice a week. I realize there is a new set of menu laid out. However for a regular customer such as myself, i realize that you have drastically increase almost all of your prices in the menu. Taking inflation into consideration and price hike of raw materials the price displayed is too high in my opinion. Nevertheless i ordered my spaghetti chicken carbonara, however it was very upsetting as the portion was half as to compared as before. To make my statement justified i had to call your waiter to compare with the normal carbonara that he had on his hand for other customers. Mine was half of what other customers are getting. The response or alasan from you waiter was "oh kalau order dgn chickenchop portion kurang", whereas i am paying for the same amount of a normal carbonara added on with the price of the chicken chop. Please get your...
Read moreThe atmosphere is nice and the drinks are refreshing. The staff members are quite friendly and quick to serve for the hungry customers. Just today, I ordered a Carbonara Beef Steak and there's a few pros and cons(about the beef) I must say.
The carbonara itself is top notch. Not too salty and not too plain, it was balanced. The beef steak itself, I have very few mixed feelings with it. After one bite, I feel the need to re-season my mouth with the black pepper sauce alone. Even when I ate the beef with the black pepper, the taste from the beef was still overpowering.
Its like the overly frozen beef tasted like it is thawed by hot water and I could taste "tap water" from inside of the beef. (No, it's not blood and the red hue in the beef is protein called myoglobin.) The beef is well-done and easy to bite. Tbh, my stomach hurts after eating the beef. So, please do some check-up on the beef in case something happens to other customers.
You can still come and dine here to chill and have a nice conversations between friends, but don't order the beef steak but...
