We were greeted with a friendly welcome as soon as we stepped into the restaurant. It was more spacious than I've envisioned with a pleasant and warm inviting ambience. I also like their colour scheme with different shades of green and gold accents from the sofa to the plate sets on the table.
As I flipped the menu, everything looked great. But we settled for the smoked duck with red cream curry, fried Melindjo leaves with eggs, fried squid with garlic and fried chicken with tamarind sauce and almond.
Of all the four dishes, my favs were the squid and especially Melindjo. The squid was fried with a light batter, crispy and has a nice simple seasoning. One of my fav foods is calamari and this one was good for me! But let's talk about the vegetable dish that's famous in the south of Thailand, I think? It was such a unique dish and it had wok hei! The flavours didn't disappoint and I highly recommend this dish.
As for the smoked duck, I have seen many rave reviews about it but when I tried, it was nothing to shout about. To me and my friend, it was so-so. Nothing outstanding and it's not like it was very delicious either. But I guess taste is subjective as my husband thought it was good. I was a bit disappointed with the almond chicken. Though it boasted a nice mildly sweet tamarind sauce and with a light batter to marry everything together, I find that the flavours could have penetrated deeper into the chicken meat. Also, and I know it wasn't the almond, I found myself biting into small hard bits. I'm not sure if it was coriander seeds or something else. That was off putting. Put it this way, if someone has bad teeth, this is gonna knock your teeth off- in a negative way! Lol
Oh yes, my husband ordered the nom chom poo pink drink to share with me. The sight and smell of it alone put a smile on my face. I love the smell of the lightly charred meringue on top and the pink is just too precious. Maybe cos I'm bias as pink is my fav colour. This drink was delishhhh and I wish I had more! Whoever made this, thank you! 😀
Btw, we ordered 3 rice. The rice came in a cute round bowl where you have to help yourself. I'm not sure how they justify 3 persons portion? Is it by weight? We're not huge rice eaters but I felt it was slightly short. I got a free coconut ice cream because I sign up for their membership thing. I wish I get free ice cream again and again.
Price point, just like what others have mentioned, it is quite pricey. Do I wish it was cheaper? Of course. Do I find the price fair? I'm not sure, probably not cos for this price I truly expected more! That's something you have to think about if you wanna try this place. I give this place 3 stars for food I've tried today and an additional star for that pink drink! So total 4 stars!
Till next time amigos 🫶🏻

Read moreWent to try this restaurant and was very very utterly disappointed with the service. Came in, sat down and was attended to. When asked for a recommendation of the dishes, I was given a breakdown of the menu and no actual recommendation was given. After a few minutes, the owner (?) came by and asked if we needed help, we asked to recommend some food and those that he actually recommended was sold out, fair enough but seeing how it is a weekend, they should have stocked their ingredients accordingly. After having this conversation with the said person, the waiter came to take our order. In the menu, there was an item that could be either chicken or beef, we pick chicken and initially he said we can only pick beef so I clarified again and he said he needed to check if they had stock. It took him a good 5 minutes to come back to me and then told me I have already ordered and these are my dishes. We told him that that was not our order and he said he will go and check. Mind you, we have not even ordered and the restaurant wasn't even busy at that point! He didn't come back for another 5 minutes. After asking and telling 4 different people that we would like to order, they had the audacity to come back with the same damn mistake; another order that wasn't ours. And when we told them that that was not our order, he went to clarify to again! Then another 5 minutes later, the same mistake again. How many people do you need to clarify with? Especially if you are the same waiter coming back and forth.
I mean how hard is it to just write it down especially if your tab can't function. All in all, we sat down for almost 25 minutes just to order food and have them tell us that they don't know how to take an order!
This is absolutely ridiculous! I don't always write reviews this long but I find this absolutely atrocious and ridiculous.
Highly not recommended. If I could give negative stars, I would but google doesn't allow for it.
Please resolve...
Read moreParking is relatively easy in this area, especially at night, as there aren't many shops around. However, the parking spaces are small. If you have a smaller car, it's recommended to use it when coming here. Alternatively, you can drive a little further to the housing area to find parking or simply have your driver bring you here.
This is considered a new eatery that has opened in the neighborhood, and it has the potential to become popular. The environment appears clean, and it is hoped that they will maintain it in the future. The plates and cutlery are of better quality compared to other lower-ranking Thai restaurants. The ambiance is pleasant, making it a good place to meet clients or have family and friends gatherings, as they have large tables to accommodate such occasions. The waiters are adequately trained; they suggest options if they notice you're hesitant and patiently explain the differences between dishes that may appear similar, such as the choices of tom yum. However, there is room for improvement in their training. My husband stood at the counter for two minutes before your staff attended to him.
The portions are alright for the price (specifically commenting on the things I ordered). The tom yum could have slight improvement by adding more vegetables like tofu or mushrooms (I understand that adding seafood may incur too much cost, but you can add some low-cost options just to make sure your clients aren't just drinking tom yum soup). The dessert is a little too small; it would be appreciated if the ice cream scoop was larger. Additionally, please consider using better quality rice. The current choice of rice is too coarse, and it would be a shame to pair it with those lovely dishes prepared...
