Nasi Kandar Pelita — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

NASI KANDAR Pelita is a household name. So generally those who head here knows that they would expect quality, cleanliness and fast service. However, the location for this particular branch in Hartamas makes it quite difficult to parking and access directly. But the foot traffic is massive, so there's always someone walking in. Also, as the sole mamak in the row it occupies, it always makes it super easy to identify this place to meet: .."Jumpa kat Pelita Hartamas bro"..and you know you'll emd up in this place. There's just no other. Unlike other mamak shops, this one has a clean, well renovated surau/musolla/ prayer area on the 3rd Floor (of the same shop block) with a very clean ablution area. I am overjoyed with this as I would be able to pray despite in an inaccesible vicinity to a surau/ masjid. Hope Pelita maintains this amenity for as long...

That cashier with wall eyes is very rude and seems to be a racist. If you don't like your job it's fine. You don't have to give a look like I owe you a lot by not even responding to my queries. Just a simple question of how much my bill is, the response I got is silence and white eyes and slowly pick my order that I hanged there for some time and slowly enter my order to reflect the bill. He can't even look at me directly with any facial expression!

Initially, I wanted to walk away and forget about it. Guess what? Right after I left, he greeted a malay lady behind me and did all the standard customer service that he should have done to a customer!

This is my first visit and definitely my last! I just dropped by to have brunch, and that's it! What's wrong...

The management and workers of this place allow smokers to freely smoke cigarettes. I just had my lunch here and a group of three customers behind me were happily smoking away regardless of the law. When I asked the cashier why are they are allowed to do so, he said they have given up telling stubborn customers not to smoke and now close both eyes to it. The police station is just opposite the restaurant. Why not call them to pay a visit???? Definitely not the place to have a smoke free meal. The police should summon the owner.
