I decided to celebrate my birthday at Naughty Babe, as I was in the mood for something porky. Not too sure what to expect in terms of quality and taste, but was up to try a new place.
For appetizer, we ordered the baked potatoes for the girls, while the adults ordered garlic chili pork belly. The girls loved the baked potatoes, so that's a win for the dish. As for the garlic chili pork belly, I imagined it to be a 'dry' dish, but it turned out 'soupy'. Nevertheless, the taste of the dish was actually quite good, so no complaints there.
For the soup, we ordered wild mushroom soup, again for the girls cuz they like 'em, and luckily for us, they enjoyed Naughty Babe's version (else we'd end up having to finish them 😆). As for salad, which I never fail to order, I went for the dirty duck salad. While the duck confit didn't do much for me, I thoroughly enjoyed the curry almond flakes, the honey lime dressing and the balsamic reduction combination.
For the mains, we ordered Babe's roast knuckle, and I have to say, the knuckle was really well seasoned (close to the taste of cured meat) and very moist. The mustard sauce, however, did not go well with the pork knuckle at all. I'd say, skip the mustard sauce.
All in all, it was a good experience, and I would come back here again to try their...
Read moreWent for early dinner at 5 there wasn't much people yet so we ordered a few items. They are having promotion now where if you ordered RM150 above, half slab of ribs will cost RM15 instead of usual price RM 48. Which I think it's quite good of a deal.
Pork ribs were tender and juicy for me had alot of bbq sauce which may not be everyone's cup of tea.
Tamarind glazed chicken was soft and the glaze is very refreshing.
Carbonara was amazingly superb for someone like me who doesn't like creamy pastas. This pasta dish was just right not too overwhelmed with the cream sauce.
Angus ribeye steak was not the best but still acceptable to eat. Their side potato was sooo fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside.
Footlong schublig sausage was good though it had black peppery taste and compliments with the saukeraut.
Sweet potato fries were perfectly cooked.
Mushroom soup was a little bit weird because there's chunks of food inside which I didn't know what it was but nonetheless taste was still amazing.
Babe's ceaser salad was fairly okay quite abit of sauce.
Milkshake was delicious and price of pints of stout are on the higher price side.
Overall experience 8.5/10 will definitely visit...
Read moreSolid meat-oriented restaurant. Cash & credit card accepted. Beer, wine & cocktail menu. Pork is served here along with beef, duck, chicken, etc. The name sounds like innuendo but it's a thoroughly respectable little spot with both indoor and outdoor dining and no scantily clad humans (or animals).
Tried their Duckie burger which, I think was a burger with strips of duck meat layered over it. Flavor was good though the bun overwhelmed the burger and it took a few bites to get to the substance of the burger. Which was nuclear hot in terms of heat. Not sure how they did it but wow it was searing hot! Burger as a whole experience is tasty but quite messy/drippy.
Calamari appetizer is good - very crispy and flavorful. The pairing with a kind of sweet mayo dip was odd to me, but fortunately they have plenty of tabasco sauce around to substitute if you so desire. Their whiskey sour was ok, but not terribly sour, and the egg white foam atop was rather thin.
Staff are friendly but service can be a bit slow (I was warned the burger would take 20+ minutes to prepare, not sure why). But it's worth the wait and one of the nicer dining options in this little...
