I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mallar Bistro, and the experience exceeded all expectations, thanks in large part to the impeccable service from Nasir. From the moment we stepped into the bistro, we were welcomed by a charming, intimate atmosphere—dim lighting, tasteful décor, and an overall feeling of warmth that set the stage for a wonderful morning.
But what truly made this visit memorable was Nasir. His service was nothing short of extraordinary. Nasir’s attention to detail and genuine care for our experience were evident from the very start. He greeted us with a smile and immediately made us feel like VIPs. As he guided us through the menu, his knowledge was remarkable. He didn’t just recommend dishes; he personalized the experience based on our preferences which included a double Milo Peng, offering thoughtful suggestions that truly enhanced our meal. It wasn’t just about the food; Nasir’s warmth, professionalism, and intuitive approach made us feel incredibly special throughout the evening.
What stood out most was Nasir’s ability to balance attentiveness with an effortless, laid-back charm. He was always there when we needed him, but never overbearing. He checked in just the right amount, ensuring we were satisfied with every aspect of the meal without interrupting the flow of our conversation or experience. It was clear that Nasir wasn’t just doing a job—he genuinely cared about ensuring we had the best possible dining experience.
The food at Mallar Bistro was outstanding as well—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. But it was Nasir’s exceptional service that elevated the entire evening. It’s rare to find someone who takes such pride in their work and can elevate an experience just by being present. Thanks to him, Mallar Bistro has earned a place at the top of my list for restaurants to revisit.
If you're heading to Mallar Bistro, I highly recommend requesting Nasir as your server. His service alone is worth the visit. You’ll not only enjoy fantastic food in a welcoming environment but also experience service that feels personal and sincere. I can’t...
Read moreI'm a frequent customer to mallar ever since they opened their doors. There is an elderly lady who is very hands on and knowledgeable about her cooking. She is normally there in the mornings. Tho I agree with other customers that prices are high for a shop of that status, I never really minded it as her hospitality was top notch. That was till I went in the afternoon and encountered a young man in his 40s who seemed to be the manager there and he had me change my perception of the whole place. First up we had fish curry with veg, chicken with veg and we ordered a soup kambing with a meehoon goreng which we specifically stated for it to be less spicy. The soup and meehoon came in so spicy we could barely eat it. We thought maybe it was a one off thing so we paid the whole bill but that is when things took a turn. After paying we mentioned to the manager that the soup and meehoon was too spicy just for his own good so it wouldn't happen to other customers, but he just dismissed us saying yea yea ok whatever... I was taken back with his uneducated attidude but we just walked away. Sometimes there is just no point spoiling your day over uncivilness. Don't think we will be going back. It is sad that one rotten apple just spoils the whole restaurants image. Kudos to the hardworking humble elderly lady, however the rude young man needs to grow up and learn a lot. Also fyi as I have read your replies, we don't need any apologise or a call back number. This is just a review to bring awareness to others. Blessed...
Read moreHey Mallar, Invisible Man here. Will you or will you not notice me just as you did this morning? You are in luck if this post is visible to you. Much improvements are needed. So here are some pointers. Service - I counted 5 occupied tables, I was 6th and sat down waiting to be served. 1 staff walk by, then another one walk by, baldy boss was by the counter not particularly busy but I remained invisible. 7th table arrived was greeted and given menu immediately. I had to make "😘" sound to draw staff's attention. I ordered, then 7th after. 7th got their drinks 1st and from what I could tell a plate of nasi lemak. Then came my rotis, which took time to cook understood, no problem there. My drinks? well, halfway through my rotis they came, which were a good 5 mins or more after 7th got their drinks. Food - not the best rotis, the curries were not exceptional either. I get better rotis and curries at Pelita. Had a packet of nasi lemak bungkus, the rice was mushy, an absolute no no for nasi lemak. The teh tarik wasn't good but even Pelita doesn't get it right all the time. Environment - clean and cosy. Thumbs up here. Price - a little premium over Pelita but sadly Pelita has better service and food. Mallar should spend some time at Pelita and observe for service improvements. It's only walking...
