New Chapter by The Owls Cafe — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

After years longing for a visit to this cafe, finally I've accomplished it. 😉 Looking for ambience, definitely this cafe is a great choice. Located within Calvary Convention Centre, you can relax in a spacious modern design architectural hall.

I was lucky to spot a parking 🚗 upon arrival. I believe not much is available, so heavily depends on your time management if you wish to get one fast enough.

I've ordered for an iced lemonade 🍋, hot mocha ☕, Ultraman pasta 🍝, Rebecca waffle, Owlsome salad 🥗 for two person.

Let's me share the pros & cons based on my experience dining in at the cafe:

Pro: The Earl Grey ice cream served as part of Rebecca waffle was yummy 😋. Because I dislikes tomato 🍅 thus I always go for Carbonara sauce for my pasta, not Bolognese. 🤭 But in this cafe, I get to know about salted egg cream sauce as part of my Ultraman pasta. Honestly, it taste nice 😋. I was looking something salty & fulfilling and it just nailed it. ✌️ The sanitisation is good as the workers immediately clean off the table & serve the customers once they have left the cafe. So the service is marvelous. 🤘

Cons: The waffle isn't crispy enough, I worry it may not able to sustain a huge amount of ingredients on top of it. It would be great if it can be taste together with fruits + ice cream of choice atop of it. 😉 I love ❤️ my salad 🥗. But I feel the dressing isn't much as I hardly can taste it.

Overall, it was a good place for relaxation. Second visit, of you is a YES! ☺️

Rebecca Waffle Finally tried their signature Rebecca #waffle topped with earl grey ice cream, caramelised banana and berries. Pretty light and fluffy inside but would prefer it to be more crispy while the ice cream has nice floral notes

Hot Chocolate Houjicha latte Drinks were alright, felt they could be improved especially the hojicha lacked the nutty, roasty aroma as the mains were all fantastic.

4Aug24 I’m back at the cafe but this time with my family. The cafe is quiet on a Sunday evening and the afternoon sun doesn’t shine into the cafe, so it’s nice, cool and a great view of the green. We tried different offerings this time. ✅ David’s waffle, Onde cake, duck aglio olio, mint salad. Don’t quite like the tomyam pasta. Salted egg yolk ran out. They no longer serve Thai basil pasta or rice.

2Aug24 My first visit to The Owls Cafe. Certainly won’t be my last as I really enjoyed the food. I only managed to try two dishes - Ultraman pasta (salted egg yolk with prawns) and the Berry waffle with earl grey ice cream. I love the two dishes. I want to try the others. Service was great. Where does The Owl Cafe find such fantastic, well-mannered and attentive waiters? They opened the door for me, they immediately served us water and continued to refill our glasses. Kudos for having such a dedicated crew. The ambience of the cafe is casual and nice but but but it got a bit warm in the mid afternoon when the sun shone in as the entire cafe is glass.
