Authentic French gallettes by French
"Galette is a term used in French cuisine to designate various types of flat round or freeform crusty cakes, or, in the case of a Breton galette, a pancake made with buckwheat flour usually with a savoury filling."
With no less than 10 choices for the gallettes available at this authentic French-owned cafe located deep inside Segambut area - renamed Dutamas coz hey, it sounded more atas and command premium. I stumbled upon this cafe by accident when I was searching for a coffee place nearby in Google Map but this is a story for another day.
What attracted me the most is actually the fact that they serve Raclette cheese in their menu and I am a huge fan. For lunch, I suggested this pink cafe for a change and they were gamed. Pictures of the famous Eiffel Tower were seen hanging on the wall.
◾La Forestiere - bacon, mushrooms, Emmenthal cheese and tomato sauce. Every ingredients combined together beautifully and the taste was good! ◾La Rustique - beef salami, Emmenthal cheese and egg with runny yolk. The son simply said "this is very good" and proceed to clean up the plate. ◾Melted Raclette Cheese with added Serrano ham & French hams - I love Raclette cheese and it came out baked piping hot with baked potato in it, with small white onions, gherkins and green salad on the side. The hams provided the added savoury to the Raclette cheese. ◾Orangina - French sparkling pulp orange juice.. ohmygod! I used to drink this when I was a young kid and it sure brought back a lot of childhood memories. ◾coffee - I prefer my coffee to be stronger.
Reason to come here is definitely for their Galette - something that you don't usually find in Malaysia, and most importantly cooked by French.
A quick peek at their menu and I noticed that they serve escargots, sandwich baguette, croques as well as cheeses which I didn't get to try....

Their coffee is consistently excellent - I'm a regular for their cappuccinos and they nail the perfect foam every time. The pastries are fresh and delicious, especially the croissants. The staff is always friendly and remembers my usual order, which makes me feel like a valued regular.
Great WiFi, plenty of outlets, and they don't rush you out even during busy periods. Perfect for laptop work or intimate conversations. The location is convenient and there's usually street parking available.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality coffee and a comfortable environment. Will definitely keep...

Having never tried this dish, I was surprised at how crispy and decadent it turned out. The Montagnarde had Raclette cheese, potatoes and ham - its richness cut by the pickled pearl onions scattered in between the folds of the cheesy goodness.
Ricoré Coffee was interesting with a chicory aftertaste, though it was a bit watered down.
They also run a little mart by the counter with French groceries, and a second hand book corner with a mix of English and French reads for many ages.
Service was great and the owners were super friendly and accommodating! Great place to chill for a while. Definitely worth a visit again to try out other items...
