Restoran Yau Lee — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

I happened to be in the vicinity during lunchtime and decided to grab a quick Chinese meal at this coffee shop-cum-restaurant, which offers dine-in and take-away items from three kiosks. I believe it is operated by a heavily made-up, elderly-looking woman who appears as if she might snap at anyone who crosses her path.

I chose to try their cooked Chinese dishes, which turned out to be a huge mistake. First, the dishes were cold despite being placed on a warmer. Second, the meat, while well-fried, was 80% fat. Lastly, the rice was not only cold but seemed to be leftover from the night before. What made the experience even more disgusted was seeing another customer served freshly cooked, steaming hot rice right after me, as the owner instructed the staff at the kiosk.

This is utterly unacceptable; it poses a potential health risk to some customers while others are privileged with freshly cooked rice.

As I write this review, I have also filed a report with the health unit of Kuala Lumpur City Hall to investigate and take appropriate action.

I believe every food operator has the right to run their business, but it is their duty to adhere to food safety standards and maintain staff hygiene to ensure that all food served is safe to consume.
