Update (05 May 2024): Figured I'd give it another shot and nothing has really changed. Ordered a Grilled Cheese Sandwich and a Spinach & Cheese Pain au Suisse... Taste was ok but nothing exceptional. Coffee was ok. The Spinach & Cheese came reasonably fast enough (Within 10 minutes if I remember correctly), coffee came after that... The Grilled Cheese & Sandwich (which I thought would have been one of the easier ones to make took probably 30mins)... And this was after I asked about the order and they then checked and told me another 6 minutes... Oh well... So be it. ********************************************* *Original Review* SunSan has a lot of potential, beautiful grounds and an interesting pitch... Watching movies under the stars etc... It is unfortunately let down by the quality of their service and their kitchen. Don't get me wrong. The service is not horribly bad and their crew is not abusive... But for the charges and their presentation of their business, more is expected. E.g. my most recent visit yesterday evening. At the time, there were 3, maybe 4 tables occupied. 1 table was already eating. Yet, it took us about 30 to 45 mins to get our food, pasta and fried snacks, and a lime tart. Can you imagine if it was full? When we asked, the crew looked lost and said they would already be preparing ours... "Maybe"... Then said he'd check. From that point, it took another 10 to 15 mins to get the food. The kitchen staff looked like they were taking their own sweet time and didn't seem to have any urgency. We were also not offered water until we asked. I'm sure a supervisor can easily manage all these, if they bothered. The responses (or lack of) to the criticism in Google Reviews kinda indicate they don't... Or maybe they don't check it. It's a nice place for private events and is pretty spacious. If regular dining, you might find the chairs aren't comfortable at all and the tables are small, so if you are there with a partner and are super hungry and plan on ordering a lot, good luck. Food choices are also pretty limited. I had the Carbonara on my 1st visit and it was quite ok... Hence the subsequent visits. Their Sea Salt Shiopan is not too bad. I liked it. The Best French Toast Ever is anything but the best. Have had a lot better ones. The Apple Turnover was cold. From the other reviews, I'd say my experience is not an isolated one so... Buck-up Sun San...

Tried the new place in Taman Desa/OKR called Sun San Bake. My thoughts. It’s a lovely concept and place to hang out and have a nice cuppa with light breakfast and pastries. The place is architecturally beautiful and perfectly landscaped, lovely to dine for the minimalist yet cosy ambiance. If one thing I would like to see different is the industrial metal tables are a little small and harsh even for two people dining. Limited menu leaning more to breakfast fare with little in terms of full meal for lunch for the time being. But whatever fare they have is wonderfully crafted and delicious, my companion did joke without pictures desciohering the description of what you are ordering can be confusing. Also while they serve pastries this isn’t shown in the menu yet there are models lined up at the ordering counter but hard to see without disturbing the patrons seated there. As mentioned the food we had including morning affair and something sweet (try and guess what th see are) were well done and lovely to eat and definitely instagramable. Price is more on the premium side but worth it. A nice selection of specialty brew coffee are available as well as other drinks to accompany your meal. Service was fast and efficient we didn’t have to wait long despite the crowd. It was enjoyable to see the bread being made on site. The outside lawn looks like a perfect place for an event space with the landscaping and view. No complaints and it’s nice to see such an up class dining option in the area, and will visit again if able. Only thing to take note is that the parking space is limited inside so likely have to park outside by the road. Congratulations on the new venture and hoping to see what else is in’s tore in future for this venue. We went early so no issue getting tables and parking but seeing it just opened likely demand and popularity will be high so expect large crowds and waiting time and parking. But my advice, it’s worth it. Maybe a bit of suggestion on improvements, mostly on the menu: 1. Would help if there are sample photos of what menu items are available as it’s hard to imagine from the description alone. Photos along the walls with the chef recommendations would be helpful. 2. A menu with the pastries and breads available would be good along with the menu 3. A single menu instead of separating the drink and food menu.

We came here for breakfast today to celebrate Hari Merdeka, but it turned out to be a major disappointment for our party of 4. Najwa had wanted to try a new place, and amidst her busy schedule, today was the only free time she could offer. Hence, the four of us were ready by 8:00 am, and we reached there slightly before 9:00 am. We straight away put in our orders at the counter, except for my wife, who insisted on getting a good table. She had called earlier to make a reservation and book our table, but was told to just walk in as only 2 tables were occupied then. But to our surprise, all the "good" tables were already taken, leaving us with some very "uncomfortable" ones. The furniture, including the tables and chairs are supposed to be "Zen" in concept, but as far as Im concerned, zen is as good as zilch!! I mean, I could understand how some fast food outlets put up those hard and harsh metal furniture, to discourage patrons from overstaying well beyond finishing their meals. But the service here is so bad, and it took them well over 30 minutes to serve me my Big Sunshine Breakfast, and even longer for my wife and children's orders!! Be it as it may, the least they could do would be to make our wait as comfortable as possible, and pacify us. But the thin stainless steel plate of a table certainly looked unwelcoming, and the plywood seats without any back rest definitely make you uneasy. How to relax?? So, it was obvious that most the patrons didnt have much of a choice, and resorted to playing with their handphones to kill the time. Not much for a family bonding session.. For the kind of foods and "ambiance" we had paid for, I feel that the bill was quite steep. Maybe it was just not my cup of tea, eventhough I ordered latte..🤭 The worst part was when we wanted to leave we found that 2 cars were blocking our way out. Eventhough one car had a phone number displayed on the dashboard, he never answered my son's call!! Even when he finally answered, he still took his sweet time to come out to remove his car.. Well, maybe next time I should just go to my regular teh tarik place...✌😊

to start off, im not one to make google reviews but the experience here i had just made me want to write a detailed review for the very first time. my partner and i came here for a small celebration, he was driving and the narrow roads and difficult parking was a small issue but we dint mind at the time. when we entered the building it was unexpectdly empty with little to no customers at all and i couldnt help but feel like the staff was being a bit unprofessional the way they introduced us to our seats 3.i brushed it off and looked at the menu, the options were sooooo limited, its like pasta pasta pasta like most of it was the same food but in different variations, not to mention the INSANE PRICING btw, its wayyy to overpriced for such cheap ingredients, i mean a few fries, a few lettuces, some onion rings, and nachos should not be worth RM33 that is INSANE, the other food we got was a hamburger and also some rice bowl, the hamburger was exp(RM30) but the rice bowl was like okok pricing lah (RM26) with that insane prices for even cafe food, you would expect to have AT LEAST table service but NO, staff told us to order at the counter and i was shocked because, the place is EMPTY and you had so many staff just standing and waiting behind the counter being an NPC, i dont understand if it was so hard to just take an order for 2 people? since yall had nothing to do but stare at your own empty establishment we went for a movie night but it was raining so we had to watch indoors instead which is okay since the staff had called us to let us know beforehand, but what i dint like was that they charged us RM60 deposit just to watch a netflix movie projected onto a white wall while you dont even bother to hide the laptop from customer view and just place the laptop in the middle of the place when the food arrived my partner's initial reaction was not like "woww..looks good" NO instead it was "its so small..." WE PAYED SO MUCH for a tiny portion and the food was also TASTELESS, you're better off making your own food at home than come to this place cuz it was so NOT WORTH IT we dint order any water cuz of the insane pricing of the food, they had water provided but my god, we HAD to pour our OWN water at a small water counter cuz we arent allowed to take the big bottles of water to our tables which i dont understand why, the cups that they provided was EMBARASSINGLY SMALL, and not to mention, pouring the water out from the bottles of water was a pain in the ass itself, the mouth of the water bottle was so tiny it took so long just to pour into you stupid small cup, it was INSULTING, ITS JUST PLAIN WATER BRO NOT ICED WITH LEMON OR HOT JUST ROOM TEMPERATURE PLAINNNN WATER. felt like with the crazy prices the staff could at least poured the water for us instead of hiding behind the counters doing nothing we left feeling very unsatisfied with the place, the place had a nice scenery that is right but the food and the service i had to give 1 star because google wont let me go any lower than that RM60 deposit for the netflix movie was promised that it would be returned within 24 hours but NO, my partner said it was only returned to him after 2 whole days, which made our impressions of this place even more bitter.

overall, DONTTTTTT GOOO BROOO WASTE OF MONEY, FUEL AND TIME this place is overrated and im very displeased that all the staff did was take our order AT THE COUNTER, give our food and stand behind the counter and waste oxygen while we had to pay RM8.90 for service charge and wait so long for the deposit to be...
