Service was so bad. When we arrived we asked for a table for 6. The staff said they would clear it for us and asked us to wait outside, but upon clearing the table they promptly forgot about us. I had to go in and ask if we could be seated yet as there were more people arriving and I was afraid they would give the table away to someone else instead. Once seated it became clear how understaffed they were cause no one came to provide us with any menu or information. My friend had to get the menu for us instead. When ordering, we ordered a chic cheese pesto sourdough, but they failed to inform us that this would take approximately 20 minutes since they were backlogged with orders and had to make the bread until we were asking for the food. Speaking of food, we ordered 4 other pastas to share, 2 of which were to be conchiglie pastas. But they were delivered so far in between that we were left to wait in between pastas, and that was with constant checking up with the waitresses on what happened to the pastas. What was worst, they only delivered one of the 2 conchiglie pastas we ordered, and they used the wrong noodles. Even though we had a refund for that one pasta, and they gave us 2 pastries "on the house", it really put a damper on out mood and our plans over the course of a 2 and a half hour meal, with food that tasted mediocre at best. There was even a line beginning to form outside the cafe, but I wonder if any of them had been informed that its about to be a long wait before they were made to pay for their order. And yes, you have to pay first before...
ย ย ย Read moreMy cafe adventure brought me to the busy Jalan Klang Lama (or Old Klang Road.. OKR) this time. Going back to this road brought back a lot of sweet (and not-so-sweet) memories - I remember vividly that when I first came to study in KL, I lived in Puchong with my 2 best buddies and we would always use OKR to get into Puchong. Hey, there wasn't LDP, Kesas, or any highway back then! Even to get to our college, we had to use the two-way traffic along the main road of Puchong. Those who lived in Puchong long enough will know.
So back to OKR - how it has changed over the years! The development along this stretch of road that used to be the main gateway to Klang changed the look of this area. High rise buildings now dominated the skyline.
Little People cafe is located in a fairly new serviced residences which also house another Japanese restaurant. Entering the cafe made me felt at home right away, with the bright, quiet and calming atmosphere. Looking at their coffee bean selections proved that they mean business.
In the end I settled for their pour over Gesha Village coffee from Ethiopia, one of the prized beans in the world of coffee. It was rich, and deeply sweet for me. The latte that she ordered was of good quality as well which made our afternoon caffeine fix a good one.
I like the fact that they use predominantly wood for the interior - flooring, furniture's and they even have a solid table top for a bigger group. The next time I'm in this area and craving for coffee, I'll...
ย ย ย Read moreMy first time visiting this cafe, the location was a little out of the blue, had to pay for parking as it is located in an apartment residence. We went there on a weekday so it wasn't so busy but there was still a surprising amount of people already there. Staff was super friendly and was greeted by upon arrival.
Carbonara pasta โ The pasta was as advertised to be - handmade, soft and nice texture, however the carbonara was a little boring for me. I've had better carbonaras than this but it's not bad, just a bit bland is all
Pesto conchiglie โ Saw a lot of people raving about their pesto but honestly it wasn't ALL THAT. Pesto tasted a little bit too nutty? Maybe because there was nuts in the pasta but it wasn't to our liking. Pasta was alright but if you're a pesto enthusiast feel free to give it a try!
Earl Grey Strawberry Maritozzi โ The highlight of the whole meal, loved the early grey cream and the pastry was soft and not dense at all which was very delightful. The strawberry jam/sauce pairs greatly with the earl grey although the strawberry fruits on top were a little small and looked kinda sad but overall this was the best thing we had there!
They have a lot of vegan/vegetarian options so if you're vegan or vegetarian do give this place a try however it wasn't it for me...
