Sushi King Setapak Central Mall — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

DISAPPOINTED! PLEASE IMPROVE! (Dined in for dinner on 29 May 2025,Thursday)

I am a regular customer here. This time i’m a bit disappointed with their food preparation. See for yourself how they prepared my salmon nishoku. We call this buat cincai cincai. You see, i truly understand how the current service is a bit slow as they are understaffed. Thats fine but when the sushi is prepared this way, i swear its a hassle for me to eat. I hope the management can take note and overcome this!

Oh and one more thing, i have always respected their rules of “please wait to be seated” so i just stand there and wait for my table right. I realised that no staff were actually looking at me to show me my table. I didn’t want to barge in that would be rude right? There were like 2 cleaned tables but i dont want to just come in bcs it was just me only 1 pax. The cleaned tables are for 4 pax.

After quite some time a male staff invited me in he showed me my table, and it was the table for 4 pax. If i knew then i could have been seated earlier! Most of the employees were inside the kitchen and they seemed a bit distressed bcs of grabfood etc. but then if you’re a front of house staff then there’s nothing really you can do abt it right being inside of...

Strongly not recommended you guys to come here if you’re looking for good sushi. To be honest, the environment is consider clean, I can’t see any rubbish or litters on the floor. However, I have to say that the quality of the food is not what I expected. I ordered Spicy Beef with Rice under the Set Meal option. After finishing the whole thing, the only leftover on the dish is the oil. They put too much of oil for the dish, like really much…seriously. Another thing is that the Salmon doesn’t look fresh to me, I mean it doesn’t taste fresh either. I was very disappointed at that moment because I paid the price but I didn’t feel satisfied at all after having dinner at here. I just can’t imagine that nowadays Sushi King is not doing that well if compared to Sushi Mentai. If you want me to choose between them, I will definitely choose Sushi Mentai over Sushi King for sure. No doubts. This is because Sushi Mentai is cheap and reasonable, plus the food is even better than Sushi King in overall. Trust me, I will not come back again, this is the first and my last time here. The food all were swiftly prepared. The staff in charge was swift.. but please check on your staff hygiene (their body odour) before letting they serve your customers. Please.. i know everyone have their own struggles but if you could provide your staff or let him know to use deodorant before coming to work that would be really, really helpful. Every time he came to our table (to serve our plates) we had to hold our breath… i’m not even exaggerating here.. And also please don’t let your staff dip their finger/s in the sauce they’re sending to your customers table.. not the first time i went to the shop and encountered this staff..last time i went here i was so shocked i vowed never to come here again but my benefit of doubt came to nothing.. the cashier at the front was even scolding the staff loudly (think she was angry at him) while the customers were eating.. please don’t let the customer know your employee drama.. and don’t get me started on how the salmon nishoku look.. we just want to order, eat clean food, pay and leave.. thank you.. please i hope there will be some improvement because having sushi king here is really convenient for some quick...
