Disappointing Experience at T42, Bukit Jalil. If there is a 0 star option, I would have selected it.

I would like to share an unpleasant experience I had at your Bukit Jalil location today. It has never come across my mind that I pay to dine outside and get scolded by the staff.

My friends and I (a group of 4) visited T42 for a late lunch earlier today, and this was our first time dining there. The atmosphere was cozy, and the food choices were good. However, as we were enjoying our time and chatting, we noticed that the air conditioning was turned off, and it started to feel quite warm. To make matters worse, the music volume was so loud that we had to raise our voices just to communicate across the table.

We politely called over the waitress, Haylie, and requested that she turn the air conditioning back on and lower the music volume. With a dissatisfy face, she responded, "I can turn down the volume, but you all also need to lower your voices because you’re speaking loudly." She then turned her back and walked away, without addressing the issue with the music volume.

As we were the only customers present at that time, we were taken aback by her response, as we were merely having a normal conversation, not speaking unusually loud.

Around 30 minutes later, when I went to the cashier to settle the bill, I took the opportunity to ask Haylie if she was aware that her behavior had been rude. Regrettably, she did not view her actions as inappropriate and explained that she found our conversation "noisy" and disruptive to her rest. She even remarked that "quality people talk softly."

To T42 Management: According to your Google listing, your restaurant’s operating hours are from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM daily, with no break time in between. At no point were we informed that customers are expected to remain silent during these hours. Do you and your staff expect patrons to dine at your establishment but be prohibited from engaging in normal conversation?

If your staff's time is so sacred, perhaps you could consider posting a notice at the entrance informing customers that only those who can speak softly / eat silently are welcome. This would help set clear expectations for future visitors.

This experience has left us deeply disappointed, and I sincerely hope that you will take steps to address the staff behavior and enhance the overall customer experience.

We were meeting a friend there at 3:30pm on a Saturday for drinks and snacks so we shared the food—there isn’t a crowd, plenty of tables, car park not so many, depending on your luck.

I was skeptical at first, seeing the one-star reviews about the loud music & air-cond switched off, but my sis assured me that she tried the food and it was nice and the fact that the friend chose this place which is mid-way from both our locations.

I wasn’t hungry so I let my sis do the food ordering. We had the signature lei cha, the hakka noodle and the lemongrass chicken karaage. I don’t really like minty stuffs (except mojito!), make sure I never encounter lei cha. I tried it anyway, not too bad at all (remember I don’t like minty stuffs). Both my sis & friend rave about it. Now, come to the hakka noodle, I thought there’s no meat whatsoever (although you can have the option to add shrimp but we already planned to eat shrimp at night) and it doesn’t look fantastic. However, the first bite bursted with flavour, so simply looking but yummy! It comes with dried shrimp sambal and if you add it, it’s like totally another new dish—how interesting! The chicken karaage was our favourite, it’s not just fried chicken pieces that they buy frozen and re-fried it (at least it tasted “homemade” for me), I think they infused the batter with fresh lemongrass juice, so fragrant but not overpowering! If they sell the chicken frozen and the shrimp sambal, I’ll buy it!! Consider that as your new product line!

The drinks—my pink rose is dragonfruit smoothie, what the norm would be is to put a lot of ice & little bit of dragonfruit to blend it together then add syrup but this was different, lots of dragonfruit and I can hardly taste any ice, good thing it’s not fake sweet, slightly sweet just nice. The espresso colada was unique—there a few pieces of pineapple as the topping, not wet fresh but not entirely dehydrated dried, at the bottom is the pineapple juice.

When we were there, main dining hall has lots of table but we asked to be seated at the private section (accommodates 2 tables) which was closed and the server complied. Overall satisfied with the food. 3...

Nice ambience and little restaurant/cafe for the neighborhood. Was a party of 2, ordered their: lei cha, CFC rice bowl, mozzarella poppers, & sweet potato latte.

Plenty of food for two. Favs were the lei cha and the sweet potato latte. Mozzarella popper was not bad either with good cheese pull. CFC rice bowl, while tasted ok, was a little plain - basically just rice and chicken. Not a whole lot else in this rice bowl. Lei cha is decent and well presented. Nothing crazy but good and tasty. And the sweet potato latte tasted pretty delicious with the real/actual sweet potato flavor i.e. wasn't artificial concentrate or at least didn't feel like it lah.

While not vegetarian or vegan myself, I do like that this place is plant-based diet friendly too, with items clearly marked with a "(V)" on the menu. It however does not indicate if something is vegan vs vegetarian. But glad they labeled and cool to see that they provide plant-based options to those who are on a plant-based diet.

All in all a very chill & nicely decorated place to dine. It was mostly quiet when we were there with a few other patrons, and a few were even there working on their laptops too.

Parking can be a bit of a mess during after work hours on weekdays, as there are tonssss of kindergartens/childcare/after-school centres here. And there were many cars due to parents picking up their kids. But it's mostly temporary and other than that usually this area in general is pretty alright with parking.

E wallet accepted, the use QR code ordering system but we were provided with physical menus to glance through...
