July 2023. Food: The best tasting lontong I can find in the city centre. The gravy has a pleasant coconut milk fragrance yet not too thick. Lots of different vegetable well cooked, including the heart of the nangka fruit. The local kopi is strong and creamy, served in a very uniquely designed cup and saucer. Bergedel is moist and well flavored. Overall, good value for money + unique food. Service: Staff is attentive, courteous, helpful. Atmosphere: Take a seat outside where you can enjoy the lovely breeze coming from the 2 rivers. Gonna make this a regular place for my Sunday brunch! August 2023: Another satisfying brunch of Nasi sambal udang petai (shrimp and stink beans) The sambal is light and not dark like the usual ones, not too spicy. The fried tempeh is coated with caramelized sugar which up-ed the crunchiness level. Nyonya style achar with lots of chopped peanuts gets 5 stars from me. I would highly recommend this for sambal petai lovers! September 17 2023. Celebrating Malaysia Day with brunch comprising of TOM's delectable kopi, lontong and kuih lopes. These are what I grew up with as...

Food :

Authentic Indonesian food Lontong and soto ayam medan are yummy, the gravy is thick and tasty, however for me soto ayam a bit salty. Soto ayam is served with perkedel and steam rice The drinks are nice, I'd like to recommend the coconut shake, it's served with ice cream They also have teh botol which is a must-have drink for Indonesian restaurant :D Fried tofu and perkedel are great, remind me to my hometown, amazing! The portion just nice with reasonable price Halal

Place :

The vibe is great, not hot, although it has a big opened door they have aircond in the inside, but if you want to see the view, you can seat at the outdoor side Because it is near central market many tourists come to eat especially lunch, but no queue since they have many seats available

Service :

The staff do the great job, fast, friendly, helpful, beside the food I want to give 5 stars for their service. Keep it up guys! Can pay with card,...

Date of Visit: Tuesday, 5 January 2025 Number of pax: 4

We visited this restaurant based on a recommendation from a local, but unfortunately, our experience was far from ideal.

While the food did taste decent, there were two major issues that really impacted our visit:

The food didn’t feel very fresh. It seemed like it had been prepared a while before being served to us and lacked the warmth and freshness you’d expect from a freshly cooked meal.

We also had an unsettling experience when a rat climbed up the wall and fell onto the plates used to serve the food. The staff, although there were only two of them, didn’t seem to notice or address the situation, which made us uncomfortable.

Overall, while the food wasn’t terrible, the other factors made it a disappointing experience. I hope the restaurant can address these concerns moving forward.

I would not return to this establishment based on our...

The best Soto Medan in Kuala Lumpur! You must try: 1. Soto Medan - the portion is generous. It's flavoury and very authentique soup. The perkedel is soo big. Not spicy, just in case you can't handle it. 2. Lontong Medan - be careful it's spicy but it was nice. Tasted different than any local Malaysia lontong. There are jackfruit, tempeh, beancurd inside, just in case you can't handle one of them. 3. Fried beancurd & risoles also nice. But please be aware that it's quite overprice in my opinion. If you are looking for authentique Indonesian food, this is a must try!
