Significant facelift in recent years. In short:

the best place to experience and purchase local cultural produce and souvenirs.

these can range from cloths made from Btik, Pashmina, Kashmir, Silk, Satin, Cotton, Linen, and Rayon. All in good and excellent qualities.

jewelry from pearls, precious stones, crystals, jade, and precious metals.

for hungry souls, local delicacies are servers to eat in and for take away.

The best way to get there is to use a taxi, Grab, or Light Rail System (Pasar Seni Station).

Recommendations:

Food Mee Kolok Sarawak Mor' Mantau

Exclusive Batik Galeri Seri Endon = was founded by the late wife of the previous Prime Minister, Tun Abdullah Ahmad...

Pasar Seni is really nice today. Back in the day, it was truly a "pasar". You could feel the hot and humid air sticking to your skin.

It's still hot and humid today, but the environment is much nicer with modern lighting. Back then, the brightness inside Pasar Seni depended on sunlight through the semi-transparent roof, supplemented with white lights throughout the pasar.

There are a lot of great local souvenirs to get here, like tiffin carriers, batik, local sweets, etc.

You might want to take a look at Chinatown and compare the prices for the souvenirs of your choice. Sometimes, Chinatown offers...

Pasar Seni had been improve quite alot since 10 years ago. They provide plenty of local craft for the tourist to buy. I just hope they can show tourist more of Malaysian culture such as local traditional dance. Beside only of having a bunch of seller who sells craft and food, ministry need to improve in promoting mix of Malaysian culture and music instument such as having a session of Gamelan, Tarian Zapin, Fan Dance, Lion Dance, Kathak or even can show them how to play gasing. I just hope to see goverment can invest more to promote our culture to...

Had a great time here with my family before we start our ramadhan fasting. Quite crowded as we went during the weekend but it’s all good. We enjoy various kind of foods and accessories as everything here was so nice and good. The ice cream at pasar besar was so delicious and will like to come back here again soon. Recommended to tourist or anyone who want to create a good memories in central market with their loved ones:) This place has everything that you guys looking for!
