Landed same morning in KL, checked in hotel at around 1 pm and walked to Chinatown longing for food. Al-Baik very easy to identify, almost opposite to iconic Central Market. First ordered for Onion Egg Roti, the signature everyday food in Malaysia. Flour roti stuffed with egg and onion, lightly fried, served with three delightful gravies all with different tastes, one a chicken gravy. Was still a bit hungry after this; then ordered an Ayam Murtabak. This is a flour roti with double filling of minced chicken, onion and spices, again served with three gravies. Very tasteful and very heavy. One of this is very adequate for a meal. So I was a bit over filled, but felt happy that I could taste the quintessential food of Malaysia on first day of my visit. Price is very reasonable. Then sat some more time watching people walking by with a glass of Kopi O (black coffee with sugar), another signature drink of Malaysia.

This place was one of the few still open when we first arrived in Kuala Lumpur. Despite the reviews about the hygiene we took the risk, driven by hunger. I can confirm the worries about the cleanliness. But I also can confirm the good food, and we came back twice, not having any health issues. Their Nasi Lemak was alright, but had regular, not coconut rice, which basically takes away the "lemak" part of it. The roti was ok. The murtabak was great! The cost of food here is ridiculously low, totally worth it. They tried their best to help us with broken English, we were happy. The whole place looks a bit run down, it's next to a rather busy street.

What others said is true! If you are very hygiene conscious , then this is not the place for you. The floor was oily, the cutleries were not very clean toođŸ€« The roti (kosong) is nice, doughy and goes well with their curry sauce. Dosai not bad and Murtabak(mutton) not bad too but it's not too big and has bones. Milo is very sweet, for those who don't like to drink too sweet, please take note. Overall, food wise are nice, curry sauces are flavourful. It is very near Pasar Seni MRT.

I recently visited your restaurant and appreciated the pleasant ambiance, with the convenience of two separate entry and exit points. However, there were several concerns regarding the food, hygiene, and service. I ordered Nasi Biryani and Tandoori Chicken. While the rice was good, the Tandoori Chicken was of poor quality and unfortunately caused food poisoning, raising concerns about the freshness of the chicken and marination ingredients. I strongly recommend using fresh chicken and properly prepared masalas to ensure food safety. Additionally, the hygiene and cleanliness of the washbasin area were inadequate, as it lacked liquid soap, and the basin top was broken. As a food safety auditor, I urge the management to prioritize maintaining a clean and tidy environment. The service was also disappointing, with delays in serving food and clearing tables. Prompt and attentive service is essential for a good dining experience, and improvements in this area are necessary. I hope these issues are addressed promptly to enhance the overall experience for future...

⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently dined at this Indian food place in Kuala Lumpur and was pleasantly surprised by its simplicity, affordability, and round-the-clock service. The no-frills atmosphere added to the charm of the place, making it a cozy spot to enjoy authentic Indian cuisine. What impressed me the most was the affordability of the dishes without compromising on quality or taste. Being open 24 hours is a huge plus, especially for those late-night cravings or when you're in need of a quick bite after a night out. While the ambiance may not be extravagant, the flavors definitely make up for it. Overall, it's a great spot for delicious Indian food that won't break the bank, any time of the...
