It was my first time at the Barn in 1MK and I must say it was a relatively good first time for me. I ordered the roasted pork olio and it was pretty appetizing but needed a bit of seasoning and that goes for the prawn dish as well, and the pork sticks. They need some salt or some sort of added flavor. The drinks are fresh and happy hour the whole day on Tuesday is such a good idea for people like me who are off on tues and weds.
The service is good and the staff are very attentive when it comes to refilling your water, noticing if you’re finishing your pint soon, and are welcoming. We met one of the staff named Lee and he was very charismatic and attentive. The other staff were a little shy but they had genuine smiles on their faces. Overall, it’s a good place to come for not bad food and a variety of drinks. If I were to add anything, it would be that perhaps they need to have more chairs with back rest for more comfort. Also, perhaps make sure the air conditioning is evenly spread throughout as it was blowing and focused around an area and facing my back the entire time. This is near the barrel tables near the bar. One last thing is their membership program seems vague and my friend was a member about 2 years back but somehow her membership was erased and she used to be a regular in this outlet and felt quite disappointed with the management. I feel it’s important to retain your regulars and customers in general and an app to collect points and receive rewards for customers is a way to connect with your customers to give them more reason to return. A life band alone will not...
Read moreThis was my biggest disappointment in Malaysia so far. We arrived at the restaurant at 12:06 PM, ordered within 5 minutes, and by 12:30 PM, our food still hadn’t arrived. And the restaurant was empty. We asked the same waiter, and he went to check with the kitchen. Then, someone who seemed to be the manager (and was just as unprofessional) came over and told us it would take another 7 minutes.
I told him I was on my lunch break and had already waited almost 30 minutes for a simple burger. He said he would try to make it faster. By 12:39 PM, we decided to leave because even if the food arrived, we wouldn’t have time to eat it.
We asked a waitress for the bill, but instead of bringing it, she went inside the kitchen and brought the same waiter. I explained that I had to leave because I couldn’t be late for work. Instead of handling the situation, he also went inside to grab the manager. The manager finally came back, now with my food, and admitted that the kitchen made a mistake. Even then, he didn’t apologize—he just said, "OK, don’t pay for the soup," and that was it.
How does The Barn choose its staff? Who owns this establishment? It’s not a street food stall—it’s a pricey restaurant, and this kind of service is unacceptable. They should be ashamed of hiring such an...
Read moreTerrible food. I made the reservation through online a week ago. When I arrived, the staff looked confused but managed to get me a table. I went through the website and found many dishes that excited me. When I arrived, the menu handed to me was nothing compared to the one in the me exciting one in the website. When enquired, the staff told me the menu in website is the old one. The current one was not pleasing. We ordered the crispy knuckle as the starter and it was served too crispy. Exterior was burnt at some parts, meaty was tough abs there weren't much fat because all melted due to being overcooked. The satay platter was served with dry meat. My iberico ribs were salty and tough and chewy, not fall off the voice as expected. Some of my guests had pork burgers, some liked it, some found parts of the patty not evenly salted, so she couldn't finish the burger as the part she bit into was salty. The only positive thing was the attention and service of the 2...
