If you happen to be in the Publika area, I highly recommend visiting the food court located at the far end of the lower level. The ambiance is both clean and spacious, making it a perfect spot to indulge in some delicious food. While it serves mostly Chinese and Malaysian favorites, do note that the food here is non-halal. The taste and quality of the dishes served here are satisfactory, but the prices are a bit upmarket considering its location in an upper medium community. One dish that I simply cannot get enough of is the BM Yam rice, especially the pork soup. The flavors are simply out of this world, and the mere thought of it makes my mouth water. In fact, this is the only place I would go to if I cannot make it back to Bukit Mertajam to taste the original dish. Another must-try dish here is the Kin Kin chili pan Mee, which is best eaten with some dry chili to add that extra kick to the dish. Trust me, it's the soul of the food and will leave you craving for more. Last but not least, the charcoal-fried Hokkien Mee at Sentul Ah Yap stall is definitely worth a try. The smoky aroma of the noodles cooked over charcoal adds a unique flavor to the dish that is hard to resist. Overall, this food court is definitely worth a visit for those who appreciate good food, especially Chinese and Malaysian delicacies. With its spacious dining area and delicious dishes, it's no wonder why it's a favorite among locals and...
Read moreWhen Publika was first opened, I remember coming here all the way from Puchong just to bask in the glamour. The food court (non-halal by the way) located at one end was quite popular with the office crowd.
What I like about this food court is the spaciousness, the cleanliness and last but not least, the variety of food to choose from. Perhaps one of the most famous will be the famous BM yam rice, and that was the sole purpose of the minister dragging me all the way here.
◾Yam Rice with Pork Soup set clocked at RM16 - lovely flavour salted vegetable soup and fresh pork plus all the innards. However, this time the rice was too soft to our liking although a big piece of yam was given. The set came with braised egg & beancurd. ◾Yong Taufu - the Hakka in me couldn't resist ordering so stuffed ingredients when seeing one. All the 'liew' looked fresh promoting me to pick up the tongs and quickly grabbed some of my favourite food. Deep fried items are served separately from the soup ones .. and I asked for curry instead of clear soup. The curry had nice flavours but a bit thin. Overall satisfying meal.
There are more than 10 stalls plying trade in this comfortable,...
Read moreIf you want to try some of the best local dishes in the comfort of an air-conditioned food court, this is the place to go. The Eat Food Village has a similar concept to Lot 10's Hutong but on a smaller scale. There are not as many eating outlets but many of them are huge favorites among KLites.
Personally I prefer this place as it is not claustrophobic like Hutong. No problem getting a table to fit my family of 6, plus there is always plenty of parking space on weekends.
My favorites are the famous Kin Kin chili pan mee, the curry noodles and Penang laksa from Lorong Seratus Tahun and the awesome Ah Yap Sentul Hokkien Mee. The latter is everything that I think what good Hokkien Mee should be - a little sticky and not wet, a bit on the sweet side and most importantly, lots of deep fried pork lard....
