I don't know where to start writing this review, I keep thinking of ways to keep it positive. But that's simply impossible. Two Sons Bistro has a great location, and a nice name that sets expectations of not overly complicated but solid great food speedily served by fast waiters. No such thing. Staff is inattentive, speaks very bad English (or let's say their version of English is vastly different from mine), and not helpful. PLEASE do not ask people with how many they are if you see a husband, wife, and 2 kids in front of you. Try to show some interest, count the heads, and ask me "table for 4, sir?" Just at least TRY to make people feel welcome!
There is no kids menu or any suitable dish for children. So i forked out 20 ringgit for a portion of re-fried fries, dark brown and unattractive. The blue cheese sauce on the side I personally liked, but of course kids find that disgusting. And do not expect the staff to come up with something creative.
For adults, well the menu looks promising, but the food just isn't. The quality of the ingredients is mediocre, the preparation is careless. It's not enjoyable. I was here a few months ago and was disappointed, but I thought perhaps it was just a bad day for the chef. Turns out that was one of the good days. This time it was just plain bad.
Oh, and lastly, it is NOT OK to serve warm sparkling water without asking your customers if they are okay with that. It is NOT OK to have a wet floor and look grumpy when i want to change table. It is NOT OK give exactly 1 postage stamp sized napkin. It is NOT OK to serve the starter after the main course. It is NOT OK for a waiter to strongly smell of alcohol and cigarettes. It is NOT OK to server regular fries on the side when the menu promises sweet potato fries.
Improve, or vacate the lot for a restaurant that wants to...
Read moreDear Owners/Management, you have a serious staff problem. I hope you read this and take it as constructive feedback or expect to lose even more customers.
It’s lunchtime during peak hour and you have 5 wait staff all with their backs towards the customers facing the kitchen talking amongst themselves completely uninterested in what’s behind them. No one is able to get their attention unless you go up to them and call them. And yes, sitting there waiting for 5mins will not yield a result of the wait staff realizing there are customers.
Once they do come to your table, they behave like you are inconveniencing them as if they have more important things to do besides their jobs as wait staff. (FYI I went through 3 of your staff all with the same issues.)
Aside from them being rude, they don’t even know your menu. When asking them about your different clam sauces, instead of them saying “Sorry I’m not sure, let me check with the chef.”, they just make up something and tell it to you as fact.
I then try to also order a carbonara and am then told I have to pay extra for “toppings”.??????!!
It is explained to me, that ordering a 20 over dollar carbonara dish only comes with pasta and a cream sauce, everything else has an extra charge (e.g. mushrooms, bacon (which I assume meant beef/turkey) etc.).
After 15mins of this nonsense, my wife and I decide it’s time to walk out.
I understand that the staff are foreigners with little to no English, and I do not fault them for trying to seek work, but being rude and having a horrid attitude regardless of where you’re from is inexcusable, especially if it is a service we are paying for.
I hope you address these issues, as from other reviews I’ve read, I’m not alone in...
Read moreI had sudden craving for mussels and clams, and went to try out Two Sons Bistro, Publika. It didn't disappoint. It was fresh and flavorful. I just wished the clams and muscles were BIGGER in size. I recommend ordering mantao instead of garlic bread for the sides, as we had too much garlic bread with other dishes. The garlic bread was nicely toasted but lacked garlic aroma.
What we ordered: Chili butter cream clams 450gm Rm30🌟 *I love the chili butter cream clams! The clams were incredibly fresh, and the sauce was absolutely delicious. The dish also comes with a side of mantao, which was the perfect accompaniment. Dipping the mantao into the sauce was delightful. Highly recommend this.
Clear zappa vongole muscle 450gm Rm40 *Yummm... They were wonderfully fresh, sauce was light and flavorful. Not a single bad mussel in the pot.
Lamb cutlet Rm40 🌟 *The lamb cutlet was really delicious. It had a beautiful char on the outside, while the inside was incredibly tender. Each bite was bursting with flavor, and it was cooked perfectly.
Golden salted egg yolk chicken Rm23 ❌️ *This was a letdown. The chicken itself was dry and tough. Sadly, the flavor was lacking as well and it was bland. Overall, it felt like the dish was hastily prepared.
Butter and garlic mushroom Rm23 *This was average, Its buttery and garlicky flavor was decent but not...
