TSuka serves a variety of Malaysian food and grilled meats but this review will focus on their Malay dishes.
We have been here a few times. Each time has been a pleasant experience with friendly staff and a nice environment.
We have enjoyed most of the food we have tried and here I will detail some of the more recent dishes we have ordered. This selection of dishes is not exhaustive by any means, but merely those that I have remembered to photograph and document. Some of these are also my favourites at TSuka.
Laksa Johor Ms. Zee - Rich, thick gravy generously laden with fish on top of spaghetti and garnished with raw vegetables. Tasty and savoury. A well-made true classic.
Nasi Kerabu Ayam Percik - Blue rice served with Kelantan's signature Ayam Percik (grilled chicken basted in a rich coconut based marinade), fish crackers, salted egg, a selection of ulam (raw vegetables and herbs), and garnished with toasted coconut. The flavours of Kelantan on a plate.
Nasi Goreng Kampung - Spicy, aromatic fried rice served with a couple of sticks of satay, a fried egg and fish crackers.
Lontong Lodeh Mak Tok - a generous serving of rich vegetable and coconut gravy to eat with lontong (rice cakes).
Lontong Kering - Lontong (rice cakes) with a selection of delicious and varied accompaniments. Each mouthful can be an entirely different taste experience, from rich and savoury rendang (not your typical rendang), spicy sambal, crunchy fried long beans with tempeh and tofu, sweet peanut gravy (kuah kacang) and aromatic coconut serunding.
Cucur Udang - Deep fried vegetable and prawn fritters served with chili sauce. Freshly made to order and very good.
Keropok Lekor - Tender deep fried fish "cracker". Not a cracker in the traditional sense but made from the same type of ingredients. Nice.
Satay - Tsuka offers a selection of chicken, beef and lamb satay. All are good but I particularly like the beef satay. The peanut dipping sauce is excellent too.
To us, prices are reasonable. Especially given the location and quality of food. Of course, you can argue that you will only pay a fraction of the price at your local gerai, but it is a different experience and has its own place in Malaysia's culinary scene. Among nicer restaurants serving good Malay food, TSuka serves well-prepared, high quality food at reasonable prices. This is a bit of a rarity in KL.
Tldr: Food: 👍👍👍👍👍 Price: 👍👍👍👍👍 Review written in...
Read moreOriginally we want to go to pop eatery, but since we are nearby, and heard good things bout this place, so we tried it ! and not regret it !
Went at 3pm, and no one except for us. So the service is super fast.
Price wise, we spend RM190 for 4 pax, round up around RM47 per pax. So not so expensive, but okay price for this kind of restaurant.
We ate:
asam pedas tetel Beef portion is a lot, but the kuah tak cukup, not sure if the kuah is too little or cause it is delicious so i keep sip it. overall, with rice, vegie, sambal penyet, it super ngam, yummy and fulfilling Will repeat this again.
Seafood lemak Funny cause i think the name is something with coconut, so we keep asking the waiter is it masak lemak, and he kept deny it. maybe cause he is foreigner, so he don't know but this is exactly masak lemak. the taste not so, tooo milky and too muak to eat alone, portion wise is big can share two people. we able to finish it as we share it together. but else, it is too berlemak and to muak to eat alone. and bit more of salt would make it better as it was on 'tawar' side. overall, 2 of us loves it, while 2 of us not so.
3.Nasi Goreng kambing aka Nasi Goreng Bawang Portion wise, normal scoop of rice, but the lamb portion is so little. the nasi goreng taste good, but nothing special. and it got lots of bawang, not kambing should earn the name, but bawang should be include in the name. overall taste good, but nothing special.
Kuey teow goreng True definition of char kuey teow. very good ! surely gonna repeat again if i don't want any rice.
Paru Belado Taste good, all of us loves it so much
Prawn chee cheong fun Super good ! taste like Chinese made ccf. with lots of prawn. will repeat again as i didn't enjoy it due to full stomach the other day. but will come back for this.
Appam Must try !
Drinks all good but normal, but loves the orange juice, does not taste like cordial drinks.
Overall will come again when i got money to try some other menu. Comfortability is at top, clean toilet...
Read moreComplaint Regarding Incorrect Drink Served and Poor Staff Response
Dear Tsuka Sdn Bhd Management,
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with my recent experience at your establishment.
During my visit, my child ordered a Lemon Ice Tea from the menu book, which unfortunately lacked pictures, making it difficult to identify the items. However, we were instead served teh ais with milk and lemon, which is not only incorrect but also not listed in your menu. This left me extremely confused and questioning how your staff could take or even prepare an order for a drink that does not exist in your menu.
To clarify, I resorted to using the QR code menu and confirmed that the drink served was not even part of your official offerings. This unnecessary confusion caused significant stress and wasted time, preventing me from ordering food or drinks for myself and completely ruining the dining experience.
When I approached your staff to clarify this matter, their response was unprofessional and unhelpful, further aggravating the situation.
I kindly request an explanation for this incident and would appreciate steps being taken to ensure such issues do not happen again. Clearer communication, accurate menu representations, and better staff training are essential to improve customer satisfaction.
Thank you for addressing this matter promptly. I look forward to your...
