Dear Uo Shin Management,
I am writing to express my disappointment following a recent visit to your Hartamas outlet on 20 May 2025 at 6:25 PM. As a loyal and regular patronâfrequenting the restaurant three to four times each monthâI have always appreciated the quality of your food and the overall dining experience. Unfortunately, this most recent visit fell significantly short of expectations.
Upon arrival, we were seated and placed our usual order, including the abalone and clam sashimi dishes. To our surprise, the portions served were noticeably smaller than usual, and the quantity had clearly diminished compared to previous visits.
We raised this concern with the manager on duty, Mr. Zac, who kindly agreed to replace the items. However, during this interaction, he advised us that in the future we should check with the staff regarding the portion sizes before placing our order, as quantities may vary depending on the dayâeven though prices remain fixed.Besides , he ask us if there is anything not satisfied , please complaint through leave a review .
We found this explanation troubling. As a customer, we expect a certain level of consistency and transparency, especially when the menu and pricing are standardized. Being told that we must inquire about quantity before ordering creates a sense of uncertainty and distrust, and gives the impression that value is inconsistent and may even be compromised without notice.
Moreover, the tone and manner in which the situation was handled felt dismissive and unprofessional, especially for returning guests who have supported the business regularly. We left the restaurant feeling disappointedânot by the food, which we have always enjoyedâbut by the lack of accountability and respect shown in handling our feedback.
We hope that management will take this matter seriously and address the concerns raised, particularly around portion consistency, communication from staff, and overall customer care. Your prompt attention and response would be greatly appreciated.
Such a miserable dining and disappointed...
Read moreI came by this restaurant on Sept 11, 6.50pm just to meet up with some friends who had already been dining here. We were still sitting to discuss our plans to head to our next location, I was not planning to order anything anyway since I could sense 2-3 waitresses just standing by our table waiting for us to leave to clear out the table.
When suddenly, a hostess came over and got way too close to one of my friendâs face, spoke in Malay (we were a group of Malays) and asked: âKawan you ni baru duduk kan? Tapi all of you sudah makan 1 jam, table ni kita kena bersih untuk customer lainâ basically blindly assumed weâre ordering some more and we need to leave.
The tone felt really hostile, and it felt more uncomfortable because she was also struggling to speak to us in Malay and when we told her that we can speak English, she said her English ânot goodâ.
So we decided to leave after this unfriendly interaction. As we were about to stand up to go pay the bill, out of nowhere, the same hostess who âcouldnât speak Englishâ came back, suddenly spoke fluent English and said we could still stay for ice cream. At that point, we were already over it. We paid and left.
I looked at the time and it was only 6.55pm. All of this happened in under 5 minutes. It was honestly one of the most bizarre and unwelcoming restaurant experiences Iâve had.
Iâve frequently been to this branch and always loved the food and had RESPECTED the 1 hour policy all the times Iâve been here, even though I find it ridiculous that you rush paying customers that are already dining in. This interaction couldâve been dealt so much delicately. It was so shameful and...
Read moreA new and affordable sushi shop located in Sri Hartamas, a new outlet of Shin Zushi. The shop's ambiance is cozy, more on muji style, soft lighting and minimalist decor that it creates a welcoming atmosphere. The menu at UO Shin is roughly the same as other Shin Zushi outlets, but with some addition of new variety of sushi and food options.
The sushi was delicious and you could expect the same quality that they have as Shin Zushi, which the meat of the sushi would fully cover the rice (this would be one of the features in all of the Shin's outlets as you could expect that you would have more meat than the rice as compared to other sushi shop). Each dish was not only visually appealing but also bursting with flavor. The freshness of the ingredients shone through in every bite." Price is reasonable, given that the quality of the sushi is way better than other sushi shop.
Highly recommend to Salmon Fuyu MK, Yaki Buta as well as the Shake Yukke Gunkan. Also as the shop is newly opened, it doesn't have much queue and customers as of now compared to other Shin Zushi outlet. I believed the restaurant will soon get crowded as more sushi lovers know about this outlet later on (FYI the shop only has around 29-30 seaters).
In conclusion, UO Shin is a new hidden gem for sushi lovers. It's a fantastic place for affordable and delicious sushi and I can't wait to return and explore more of their delectable offerings.
P.S: Wish they could have at least provide free green tea given that this is something practiced by Japanese restaurant, but no complain tho as their green tea is one of the cheapest in town among the other...
