Subject: A Disastrous Anniversary Dinner – Complete Disappointment
I cannot express enough regret for choosing this restaurant for our 20th wedding anniversary dinner, especially when there were so many better options available. What was meant to be a special evening turned into a complete disaster, thanks to the utterly disappointing food and lack of basic culinary sense.
Let’s start with the so-called Sizzling Steak with Brown Sauce—an absolute joke. It was pathetically served with two plain potatoes, broccoli, and cauliflower that were completely tasteless. I had to season the meat and vegetables myself with salt and pepper because there was no base flavor whatsoever.
Who in their right mind serves a steak on a sizzling plate and pours the sauce directly onto it? The “brown sauce” instantly turned into a burnt, black sludge. Were we supposed to eat steaming hot meat with zero sauce and risk burning our tongues? And not even a side of extra sauce was offered! Where is the common sense in that?
Then came the Black Pepper Steak—another disaster. The meat was bland, the sauce was flavorless, and once again, we had to salvage our own meal with salt and pepper. Paying over RM250 for such tasteless food and old, poor-quality meat is beyond unacceptable.
This place doesn’t even deserve a single star. If Google allowed negative ratings, I would give one without hesitation. Victoria Station should compensate us for ruining our anniversary night. Not only will I never return, but I will make sure no one I know ever wastes...

Food taste was so so horrid! Fish fillet was over fried , french fries was bland & soggy, salad was dry, lamb was dry and usually it has to come with a sauce just like how other restaurants serve, however here RM9.90 was charged extra for black pepper sauce which eventually tasted like pepper flavoured water. Chicken was over fried & it looked burnt. No seasoning and no salt! Extremely expensive for such low lousy quality food. Our valentines dinner was disastrous. Wasted money. The only thing that I can say we liked as always were the interior. Restaurant was badly managed on valentines, hostess was haywire despite us having a reservation and our name was clearly written on the reservation list, yet she kept increasing her voice repeatedly asking my name. Waiters were running around disorderly. Song selection was bad. Don’t think this branch is worth a visit anymore. The essence of this establishment has diminished sadly.
Totally loved the service and ambiance the most. This is my fourth time here and this restaurant never fails to impress me by the quality of their food and exceptional service. Parking can be a tad difficult nevertheless there’s jockey service available to ease parking hassle. Highly...
Read moreThe place is showing its age, but in a charming sort of way; it's been around for decades and it shows. For a restaurant surrounded by the ultra-modern, Victoria Station Ampang (and Hock Choon - a supermarket - beside it) are a testament to a bygone era. The wait-staff are good, unobstrusive and responsive. Parking is iffy, but do engage the valet, it's much easier. So, service good, ambience ok (if tinged with nostalgia), parking not so good. How was the food? Not mind-blowing. In fact, and I'm sorry to say this, quite pedestrian. I had the lamb platter and she had the sizzling chicken; the lobster bisque was not bad and the salmon salad was far from impressive. The prices are comparable to similar restaurants but the quality of the food is just not up to mark. The chicken: juicy, tender, it's not easy to mess up chicken chop - the veggies were grilled, excessively oily and the black pepper sauce was just ok. The lamb: the burger/cutlet was dry and tasted slightly processed. The lamb steaks were a little dry, the veggies were largely tasteless. Value for money: debatable. Would I return: I'd rather head to La Risata - also in Ampang, about 5-6 minutes away - I don't...
