MARII Cafe - LANGKAWI — Restaurant in Langkawi Island

Disappointing experience. The cafe itself is very pretty and comfortable, . When we arrived, the cafe didn’t have a food menu and the manager (?) listed the foods they could cook for us, which was odd but we continued to be seated. We ordered a big breakfast and a vegetarian breakfast (not really knowing what would be on them). We were the only people in the cafe.

The coffees were good and arrived after a 10 minute wait. My boyfriends breakfast arrived after 35 minutes, and mine arrived after 50 minutes, so we unfortunately ate separately as he had finished before mine arrived. Going forward I would strongly suggest updating the customers regarding their food if it has gone beyond an unusual amount of time. We had no idea to start with the first meal or wait it out for the second. I’m not sure why there was such a wait, as my breakfast contained all the same foods as his (just no meat) and we were the only customers.

The manager did come out to apologise that there were ‘technical difficulties in the kitchen’, again if this could have been communicated earlier we would not have minded. To be fair, we were offered a waffle as compensation but after being there for over an hour (mostly waiting), we just wanted to leave. A bit more enthusiasm from the staff would also help, the Cafe has potential but not...

Visited this cafe with my friend as it looked quite aesthetic. Most of the staff could not speak English but in the end we manage to talk to one that could converse in Chinese. We were told that food would take a while as they had many orders on hand. After 45 mins, one of our drinks came. We continued to wait for our nuggets and fries, which were then served to another table. We saw kids at the table eat the wrong order which was then sent back and brought to our table. We weren’t comfortable with eating food that someone else had touched; so sent the food back and got a refund instead. In the meantime, our other drink finally arrived and shortly after, our waffles. To be honest, the drinks and waffle was great, super yummy but the poor service really spoilt our experience there. Left once we finished the waffles and went elsewhere for food instead. Hope they will be able to train their staff better to better manage orders...
