Part 1 Smiling Buffalo

First there was The Fat Frog, now Smiling Buffalo? Langkawi is not short of nice cafes with quirky name 🤣 this cafe ranked highly in my to-visit list due to its high rating in Google, and it looked absolutely serene and beautiful in social media.

We arrived at the entrance just in time for lunch. We were made to wait for table as it was packed with lunch crowd. We got a table right under some coconut trees - luckily for us the weather was bearable.

◾Crispy Chicken Burger ◾Roasted Sesame Cajun Chicken immediately made the princess's day with its tender and tasty grilled chicken breast, lettuce, tomato and cucumber sandwiched in between two soft focaccia bread. Fries on the side. ◾Deep fried calamari with a side of salad and spicy coconut sauce. ◾Seafood bouillabaisse was not their forte as it didn't taste like authentic bouillabaisse and the prawns used was borderline mushy. It was not bad but just didn't taste right. ◾Rounded up our lunch was smoked salmon on a bed of lettuce, mango, feta cheese, cherry tomatoes and balsamic dressing.

The whole vibe was good and we enjoyed the quick lunch here. Part 2 will follow up soon!

Part 2 Smiling Buffalo

Do you know that Smiling Buffalo is also a holiday destination, offering chalets that are situated around the compound? Walk around and you might spot 2 units of evergreen VW Combi, swimming pool meant for guests and various spots for visitors to chill and enjoy the food.

Everyone loved the overall atmosphere of Smiling Buffalo - and they spent a considerable amount of time to take pictures.

◾Smoked salmon - part of all-day breakfast menu, the plate consisted of smoked salmon, scrambled egg, citrus salad, hash brown, wholemeal toast & honey mustard sauce ◾Roasted sesame Cajun chicken in focaccia bread, together with tomato, lettuce, cucumber, capsicum and kewpie sesame dressing. Fries on the side. ◾Black Pepper Beef Rice would make a proposition for rice lover ◾Pasta options include beef bacon carbonara, Aglio olio & seafood marinara. ◾Minute Steak for the attention for someone who crave for beefy dish - Aussie striploin with Cajun seasoning, scrambled egg and citrus sale + toast. ◾Crispy chicken quesadilla was an easy choice for the kids. ◾SB chicken chop gave a big piece of deep fried breaded chicken chop on top of curly fries, side salad and BBQ sauce. ◾Crispy chicken burger was similar to the chicken chop but sandwiched in between two burger buns with similar dressings. ◾Desserts were brownies with vanilla ice cream & blueberry, drizzled with chocolate sayce; and banana split with ice cream - perfect for the hot weather!

However, I feel it is important to highlight an unfortunate incident involving one particular staff member that affected my dining experience.

From the moment I stepped into Smiling Buffalo, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality. The restaurant's ambiance was charming, creating a pleasant atmosphere for a leisurely breakfast. The menu offered a variety of enticing options, and the food itself was exceptionally prepared, with flavors that delighted my taste buds. It was evident that the culinary team at Smiling Buffalo takes pride in their craft.

Most of the staff members displayed exceptional professionalism and dedication to customer service. They went above and beyond to ensure that every guest felt welcome and satisfied. In fact, I was particularly impressed when one of the staff members willingly accommodated my request to modify my order to suit my personal taste. It demonstrated their attentiveness and commitment to customer satisfaction.

However, it saddens me to recount an incident involving one staff member that marred an otherwise flawless experience. When I politely asked this individual for cutlery, I was taken aback by their response, as they suggested I retrieve it myself. This interaction was unexpected, especially in a restaurant where table service is provided. It left me feeling disappointed and somewhat perplexed, as it contradicted the excellent service I had received from the rest of the team.

Despite this isolated incident, I want to emphasize that the exceptional service provided by the majority of the staff members at Smiling Buffalo should not be overshadowed. The attentiveness, friendliness, and willingness to accommodate requests displayed by the other staff members truly made my visit special.

I believe in the importance of providing honest feedback to help establishments maintain their high standards of service. I trust that this incident will be addressed by the management at Smiling Buffalo, as it is crucial to ensure consistent excellence in customer service. By addressing and rectifying such matters, the restaurant can continue to thrive and provide memorable experiences for all...
