Rootian Seafood Restaurant 露天海鲜冷气饭店 — Restaurant in Langkawi Island

If you are looking for delicious food and good service, PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THIS RESTAURANT!

My family and I went to this restaurant on 17/06/19 at 8:30pm, we made our order once we reached there. The guy (we believe is the son for the boss) who take order show no patience while taking our order. It's okay.

Then, we have ordered one fish, one vegetable, one taufu and one pork. They took almost 45mins to serve our food. BUT, they only serve fish and pork after that 45mins. They took another 10mins to serve our vege, but later on we realise that was not the vege that we ordered. Therefore we ask them to change for us and it took us another 5mins. At the same time we ask them to check our order (taufu), however the taufu was served to another table.

Then.......... funny thing was, they are then serve us another type of taufu which was rejected by the next table earlier on. I was like "WTH?".... then we ask them to change again... they promised will serve us the taufu that we ordered. However, no one serve anything within 10mins and no one inform us or come and apology.

I told them to check the bill as we have finished our rice while waiting for the taufu. I walk over to the counter and wanted to make payment. I told the lady on the counter that our taufu has not been served, and she cancelled it on the bill.

I was about to pass my money to the cashier but i realised that they charged us on a dish that we never order and it cost us RM20. They told me that they might accidentally included it in the bill. Fortunately I am an accounting student and I'm very sensitive in this kind of stuff. I couldn't imagine how often they "accidentally" charged their customer and the customer never realise that they have been overcharged.

This is first time I write a review on a restaurant as we do not want you to get the same treatment from the same restaurant. At the same time, if they are so happened to see this review, hopefully they will be alert and change their attitude towards...

All the dishes we ordered had been consistenly good. Fried rice was really tasty. We had flower crab spicy, Grouper sweet & sour fish, Long Bean with sambal, sizzling pork, black pepper prawn, salted egg squid, veg beancurd, black pepper chicken. RM 310 for 5 person. Favourite is salted egg squid, fried to that perfect crisp and not oily with light taste of coated salted egg that balance the dish. And also black pepper prawn, Fresh and peppery. Lastly, Fish is excellent, crispy on the outside and tender inside. At first was quite hestiant to try as our first stop at another place was horrid. Highly recommend to try ROOTIAN. Only cons is, it seemed like the boss need ensure staff give the order correctly. They looked kind of unhappy and some confusion. Overall, it was the best meal we had while...

STOP CONSIDER THIS RESTAURANT!!!! I strongly urge all viewer in this page DO NOT ever go to ths RooTian restaurant for any meal. They are big liar.... They proposed me to order small portion flower crab but in the actual they charged u medium portion price. When I asked the cashier, she told me was their kitchen mistake but want me to pay for whtever tht they charged. Attitude was such rude n expect nothing much I can do as tourist since they hv local support. The price is terrible n ridiculous, dinner for 4 (2 kids, my wife n me) cost RM233, 4 dishes - fish, flower crab, egg n Vege. Taste is poor, portial is relatively small but price charged is big portion or medium portion easily, service is damn rude. Worststill, allowed anyone to smoke in thier restaurant.
