ZF Seafood Restaurant 卓峰海鲜餐 — Restaurant in Langkawi Island

Z&F doesn't have a big sign but is next to a fruit shop (actually the same place) near the end of the road junction.

Don't be put off by the basic interior; the food there is fabulous and in particular they have 3 dishes that I believe are out of this world: Salted egg flavoured fried squid (fresh, crispy and highly addictive) Tiger prawns in garlic butter (cooked beautifully with amazing flavour) Home-made tofu (sharp soy / salted egg flavour on the exterior and the texture inside is silky and melt-in-your-mouth)

The other dishes we tried were also good: Grouper fish steamed in garlic and spring onions 3 cup clay pot chicken clay pot tofu Oyster omelette Broccoli with scallops Black pepper beef Special fried rice Mussels in garlic and spring onions Chicken with cashew nuts (only gripe was the nuts were cooked too long so weren't crunchy but was a good dish otherwise)

The 8RM mango juice was actually the best we have had (really fresh, rich and tasty). The dragon fruit and papaya juices were also very good.

The 10RM homemade creamy mango ice-cream was also amazing! It was also entertaining watching them make it (they flatten it onto a cold metal surface until it is thin and then roll it into into small pieces to arrange in a cup). This was the best mango ice cream / gelato we have ever had (this includes gelato in Italy!)

This place was always very popular (sometimes the only place that was full in the area), you choose your own fresh seafood, the owner is really friendly and staff are honest about ordering too much food and are helpful in recommending which dishes are good. The food was also great value as we spent much less there than at other places and it was very clean with no mosquitoes.

We loved this place so much that we went there 6 out of 8 nights and even bought fresh fruit for breakfast most mornings and came here for fresh juice and ice-cream.

Bad attitude! Understood that it’s peak season and will be packed, so I purposely called and made reservation 3 days before. Call answered and confirmed my reservation but when my family and I reached the restaurant, they denied the reservation. Please be informed that the restaurant was empty when we arrived. They accused that I didn’t make the booking and claimed that they do not take reservation. Until I showed them the text message that I sent on the day I made the reservation requested by the chef. Do not like how they talk and not that we want them to clear a table for us!! There were only 2 small tables upon our arrival! Their attitude was really bad and...

Worst experience ever for my first day travel to langkawi. Seats were still available but keep telling us we can't sit. Boss is no manners as well. What do you mean we can't choose what we want to order. Why do we need to follow the previous customer order. NO MANNER & RUDE. Haven't even look at the menu straight telling us rules and chasing u away. Wth 😡 really spoil the mood. Not recommended to come. If you don't want to serve just say it nicely. NOT SHOUT AT CUSTOMER!!!

BTW the menu is pricey, not worth the price. The boss definitely just want to make money & accept your order if you order those...
