We were looking for a Chinese restaurant close to our hotel along Heeren street. After reading the many good google reviews of this restaurant, we decided to give it a try. The photos posted of the food looked enticing and appetising. It took us less than half and hour to walk there in the evening from Heeren street. The first thing we noticed upon arrival were that the tables were all large and more suited for family reunion meals. There were only four tables on the ground floor, three were already taken. Thankfully the empty one wasn’t reserved and they invited us to seat at it. The kind lady who served us advised us to order only two dishes for our family of three as their portions are large. We proceeded to order two dishes as advised. She was right! When the dishes arrived, the portion sizes were indeed large and more suited for five to six people. We throughly enjoyed both dishes as the execution of each dish was excellent. Total cost of the meal was RM 124.70 for two dishes, one bowl of rice and a pot of tea. It will be at the top of our dining list when we...
Read moreWe visited this outlet last year. Made a reservation for 3. They called multiple times to confirm “sure ah”. We arrived to find the staff chaotic and lost. After a while we were seated and after nearly 1 hour and 15 mins not a single dish arrived. The captain who took the order was avoiding attention. We were dining with our young daughter and we were all hungry. After a firm demand the captain emerged. She informed us that they were focussing on few big parties from “overseas” - we observed they were from Singapore. That they had ordered over 10’dishes and they will get to us after. What found is that this was the sort of establishment that focussed on high rollers who came with their own wine bottles and were on first name basis with the staff. They seemed to care little for “normal” people. We will not repeat. There are many good establishments in Malacca who respect and honour reservations. We left to the rude protest of the captain who now...
Read moreCasual fine dining chinese cuisine.
As per the name of the restaurant this place is not the typical chinese cuisine (commonly known as tai chao or siu chao - big fry or small fry)
Theres alot of beautifully named meaningful dishes well positioning for food presentation. Just like every chinese cuisine the variety of taste and choice of food is unimaginable in a good way (unless you have decision making phobia) The taste in this place does not disappoint as well. Do try their crispy chicken its really crispy at the same time meaty.
Ofcourse price is relatively higher than normal as expected but if you can afford its worth the experience. Not to mention if you need private room theres 1 with karaoke system.
Overall recommended but expect slight bleed of...
