故鄉茶室 — Restaurant in Penang

This is a quaint place located behind the temple. Strangely they don't have any indication or advertisement of their presence so you probably won't know about it unless you see people walking to and from it. Or someone tells you about it.

Their setting is very old school and simple. Tables are spaced well and the next door park gives you a spacious feel to the place. While their snacks and food may look simple and unpretentious, they taste delicious and fresh. I must admit that I only come here if I buy the nasi lemak at the temple entrance and don't come here specifically for their food.

Parking is easy and if you are in the area looking for a relaxing fairly quiet place for a simple breakfast, you wouldn't go wrong...

Boss informed they open for 7 years, but I just notice this place only. They serve local Malaysian breakfast like nasi lemak, fried bihun, toast, half boil egg.. Monday to Friday they serve lunch too till 3pm. Sat and Sun just breakfast. Overall food consider ok, ambience is nice. Price consider above average. The drink is exactly the way I like it, thick, nicely foam and aromatic hot "cham" or "Kopi". Many side dishes available and my recommendations are Kuang Chiang, lobak or a half boil egg with toast that will go perfectly with the drink.
