Wine Not — Restaurant in Penang

A great find. We were looking for a cosy, intimate wine bar to spend a romantic evening. This is exactly it.

A pretty decent wine selection (overpriced tho considering the general price range for those particular wines). A live acoustic band created a great ambiance too.

Dining tables as well as couches if you'd prefer a casual vibe with friends. The menu has finger snacks as well as starters & mains. Food was ok, portions average. Margarita pizza was minimum effort, chunks of whole tomato put on cheese then baked 🤦🏽‍♀️

Why 4 stars ... Our severe disappointment with the "cheese board". At 38rm it was hardly a cheese board - TINY pieces of cheese: camembert, feta & blue (a good size of blue cheese costs 10rm in Aeon big btw - no excuse) more cucumbers and carrots than cheese, no baguette (cheese bread which is easy to bake or purchase).

One would expect a cheese board served in a wine bar to be the star of the menu.

The concept is great, staff great, vibe awesome but id suggest a food menu review...

Change boss and management. Decoration has became brighter. Love the unagi carbonara. It so creamy. The salmon has two slices and very very big portion. The cheese compliments merlot wine very well. This is my second time here. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Most importantly the staff know their wine very well.

However, this is not a place for you to chit chat with your friend while holding your wine glasses. As they have two singer who take turn and sing almost the whole night.
