We were very disappointed with our recent dining experience. We ordered the cheesy chicken chop, but it was clearly undercooked. When we raised the concern, the restaurant manager, Jun Hou, insisted that it was well cooked and responded with a dismissive attitude. He never offered to replace the dish, and when we said to keep away the food, he simply suggested packing it for takeaway, which was unhelpful and showing attitude.
At first, we did not take a photo of the undercooked chicken. However, after experiencing such poor attitude, we decided to escalate the matter to the management and requested the undercooked chicken to be photographed. Shockingly, Jun Hou presented us with a different piece of chicken — either re-cooked or not the original — but even then we could still clearly see the undercooked parts. Refer to photos, and undercooked chicken seems not the first case in this restaurant.
After reading other negative reviews, it seems obvious that this manager has ongoing attitude issues. We were honestly shocked that someone with such poor customer service is leading what should be a good restaurant.
On a positive note, the supervisor Benson handled the situation with patience, explained things clearly, and offered several solutions. Nevertheless, the dining experience had already been ruined by the manager’s behaviour.
As a customer, we believe food safety and professional service should always come first. Unfortunately, both were lacking during my visit. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously, as customers deserve to be treated with respect and served food that meets proper...
Read moreI find their interior decor calming. Predominantly light color background theme punctuated with wood based colour of the chairs. The tables are arranged quite closely to maximize seating which gives a claustrophobic vibe when its full. Fortunately this is partially mitigated by the high ceilings. Waiters are efficient and food arrives at an acceptable speed.
As for the food, I think this branch does a better job than the SJ branch. The nasi lemak comes with adequate sambal and the taste is delicious. I still find the chicken overfried and a little dry though. The petai and the other condiments are superb though. The duck spaghetti is also another tasty dish. Perfect oil and good combination of taste. I also found the squid rojak an incredible dish. Even though the sauce is still a little watery, I can't find fault with the seasoning. It was totally enjoyable.
Unfortunately I can't say the same for the fried rice. Even though the taste is good, it's just too wet. Wet fried rice is something I can't enjoy. The yee mee was also fairly average. The gravy is average at best.
As for the dessert? Surprisingly tasty. Not too sweet and combines well with the content. Strangely the opposite is true for the cendol drink. It's so sweet that your tongue goes numb. Avoid this if you can.
In short though, a pretty nice place to have a meal even with a couple of small...
Read moreThe shop bribes its customers for a 5 star review with a free ice cream. A practice that I despise but unfortunately common, just be aware that their extremely high Google ratings might not reflect their actual quality. I would had given them a 5 star for their food and atmosphere.
First thing you'll notice is the spacious and modern design of the interior, atmosphere feels very comfy in there. It's incredibly popular so it can get really crowded during peak dining hours.
I'm impressed but their menu (its literally a book!), they offered a huge variety of foods ranging from local cuisines to western cuisines. We got their nasi lemak with ayam berempah, and the yam & fish noodles.
Service was pretty fast given its crowded when we visited.
The nasi lemak is above average. The blue rice was the highlight, very fragrant and had a slight distinct taste that complements well with the sambal. The sambal is good, although it's portion is small and I hope they will provide more. The ayam berempah is pretty standard, pretty juicy meat, but I found the flavour to be slightly lacking.
The yam & fish noodles are nothing too special. So not too much to comment about.
We observed that a lot of customers ordered their pasta, so that might be...
