First class .. absolutely. What a hidden gem Tairyo Japanese Cuisine restaurants located on Icon City, The best Japanese restaurant in Icon City area. First of all, Irasshaimase and Arigatōgozaimashita is truly practiced here. It has worth to visit on also special day or normal day if you are Japanese food lover. I’ve tried many places and this place is the only place serving the highest quality Japanese food. They provide variety Sashimi and sushi as long as many different Japanese dish. Also set menu can enjoy several dishes with reasonable price. Usually it is not easy to find great Japanese restaurant around you but this is the one you can enjoy real authentic Japanese food. The restaurant located beside (Ground floor) of Iconic Hotel and can share hotel parking lot to park a car in front of Tairyo Japanese Cuisine restaurants. Second, this restaurant always serves authentic Japanese dishes. Food is great too and prices are very good, food quality is 5 starts, one of the better quality Japanese restaurant. I very love the environment, it's traditional Japanese Cuisine restaurants feel peaceful, quiet and clean, fresh Ingredient, good service, menu with wide range of delicious Japanese food. Food was authentic, sashimi was fresh. Peaceful ambiance, Pleasant and professional Chef and all of crew and staffs, their service is one of the best I have experienced. And when they see diners needing something, they'll proactively get it even before you asked. They look out for all the diners in all corners of the restaurant. This is our first time trying the place and the environment was pleasant and cooling.

The food prices here are expensive with some dishes being on the high-end price list (no point in beating around the bush) and the overall factor of it is translated to the service.

The service was excellent during our visit here but the trend we noticed is that we were recommended several times by the waitress to try the very expensive dishes (eg. sea urchin sushi RM80 for 5 pieces) which we obviously didn’t go for in the end. There is a 20% discount for those premium dishes but it is still expensive nonetheless.

The food quality was superb, I would say the majority of our dishes hit the mark and we enjoyed our time there immensely. However, the wasabi wasn’t hot and the ginger given was very little but those are minor criticisms.

We realised that a spending of at least RM400 will put you up onto the VIP list (similar to being given a restaurant membership) and you will get a 10% for future visits. This will depend on how frequent you plan to visit the place, it is good but expensive so to...

Was in Penang for work and after a long day, we do not want to go too far for dinner. Spotted a nice looking Japanese restaurant right next to our hotel (Iconic Hotel Penang) and went in to try.

Over all the experience was good. Food was tasty with an exception and the service overall was fast.

Our first server didn't understand us very well cause I had some questions about their menu and contents (foreigner I assume) so we got someone else to take our order.

We ordered the salmon sashimi, the iberico pork teppan, a sesame cream sauce udon and others.

Generally everything tasted fine except the udon. It was overcooked and the sauce was tasteless after a few bites we set it aside and ordered the ochazuke. Tasted much better.

Had an enjoyable time, picked up the bill, the cashier we had was friendly and pretty animated so great job to him for striking a conversation and making sure we had a good time. Will come again but I would avoid ordering their noodles if it is...
