I've been to a lot of cafés, but this one have to be my worst experience food wise. I can't believe I've spent more than RM60 over this.
these are all the food I've ordered: Salted Cream Matcha Latte Pure Matcha Latte Matcha Tiramisu Matcha Burnt Cheesecake
Matcha Tiramisu. I have a huge beef with the tiramisu. This is the first time in history I've tasted a messed up tiramisu. HOW is it hard? And crunchy(?) Idk if i wanted to laugh or cry about this. Do you know I can't even scoop it with the fork you gave me? I have to POKE and bite LMAO. It's bad enough you're using a premade lady fingers that you snapped 3 of them in half for that price. Like it's ok, I'm alright wirh paying if it taste good. But at least, you should soak it properly. It's so hard and plain on the inside. Like you've tried baking some cookies but overbaked it so it's hard. And i can't believe I've paid RM14 for that experience. You can definitely get better ones with that price in other cafes. One plus side of the tiramisu is the cream and the matcha taste good.
Both Matcha Latte. You definitely used electric mixer instead of a bamboo whisk. As a matcha cafe, you should consider switching and here's why. You can taste the grainy residue(?) of matcha that's left. The residue leaves a weird texture in your matcha. It's not creamy, the bubbles aren't fine for sure when you mixed it. The salted cream one taste better than the pure matcha latte, do consider to order that. Keep in mind, not the best, but okay.
Matcha Burnt Cheesecake. It's sour/spoilt(?). Listen, I'm saying maybe it is just my taste bud, I don't prefer it. MAYBE it's my tongue, idk how you would like your cheesecakes but it's sour in a weird way for my liking. It didn't taste like sour cream kind of sour, it taste like it's spoilt. It didn't smell like it's spoilt but the taste is odd. Then again I've never tasted a spoilt cheesecake.
Also do consider switching the straws for the Salted Cream Matcha Latte for a taller one or add a stirrer. It's more hygienic if I don't have to touch where I wanna sip.
TLDR: Definitely not that good as other reviewers said, overpriced, matcha was made using electric mixer, tiramisu is the worst but definitely can be improved. Matcha burnt cheesecake taste weird for me.
Plus side? food presentation 10/10. there's a coaster for the drinks. the place is huge and when I went, there's not...
Read moreThe place was smaller than expected. The greenery environment is what mainly attracts me here. Plenty of parking which is an add point for a cafe.
Food and drinks are honestly nice, the matcha taste blended well! My friend and I's "Dirty Matcha" and “Strawberry Matcha" tasted so nice. "Dirty Matcha" is a perfect blend of coffee and matcha, while "Strawberry Matcha" brings a little sweet to the bitter taste of matcha. The matcha cheesecake is perfect for not a fan of extreme sweet taste like me! The lemon tart is EXTREMELY sour tho, not for those who do not enjoy lemons.
The only thing I did not like about this place that it was too packed and noisy. To be honest I was a little annoyed. It's not a place for introverts like me to bring a laptop or books and chill. However the food and drinks, and the service of the staffs make up for it, so overall I still had a pretty...
Read moreYou’re telling me this is a matcha cafe?? But you don’t even whisk ur matcha. As a matcha lover, just looking at your staff using an electric mixer to mix the matcha powder up was a pain in my eye. I saw the matcha set up that you have that’s why I ordered the ceremonial matcha latte. Such a disappointment, tasted disgusting. Your staff was lazy enough to the point she just whisk it into paste and poured milk into it.
The only dessert that tasted good was the matcha cheese cake, which I would highly recommend. Besides that, the Choco Brownie tasted as if the brownie was made from a cheap ingredient.
In conclusion, don’t expect this to taste like Niko Neko. And no this can never be the “Penang Version”...
