Sushi Zento Seberang Jaya — Restaurant in Penang

Food is delicious, however, I’m quite disappointed to this restaurant due to its dishonest. I had an unpleasant experience while having dinner here:

1. Ordered a grilled salmon. When it was served, the salmon was 20% smaller in size compared to picture shown in menu.
2. Ordered a set menu that includes rice, soup, steam egg, salad, etc. When it was served, the steam egg was missing. Upon calling waiter to mention about this, only they explained that steam egg was still in cooking and will be served once done. Not sure if customer not aware of this will they pretend dunno.
3. Third one is completely unacceptable. During payment at counter, there is a list mention pay using CIMB got 10% discount. After the payment using CIMB and checking the receipt, there was no discount at all!!! When highlighting this to the cashier, she just purely saying “ Idk u using CIMB” “It ady enter into system, nothing I can do” and that is. This kind of dishonest restaurant should deserve 0 star if can and should train ur stuff properly. Dun let customers pay...

The restaurant is quite clean and cooling so it is comfortable to sit here for a long period of time. There are plenty of parking spaces in front and behind the restaurant but they are usually full during busy hours.

The service was excellent and our orders arrived in a short amount of time. The food tasted alright but certainly not exquisite. I feel that the food portion is not proportionate to what we are paying for and in cases like this, the taste must be excellent and it didn’t really hit the mark. Also, the kids meal could be better as not every child likes to eat cold noodles.

Price-wise, a lot of the dishes are quite expensive and you can even see the menu old prices being covered with higher price stickers. In my opinion, it is better to only come here on a special occasion or you can give other Sushi Zento restaurants a try like the one in the Penang Island Precinct 10 as the food quality there is...

Overall a pretty good restaurant. How went service level needs to be improved.. we ordered food and get ready for my guest to arrive. Waiter started to serve our food and I have to stop them. They are also standing around and till I asked for tea… I told them when they serve anything like sauce has to explain what’s this for and use it for. I didn’t know served sweet sauce for sashimi or sushi.. and I put the wasabi on it ! Tried to order most premium sashimi set, they said don’t have as there’s no toro or seasonal stuff like uni? I have to order individual sashimi and add together . ?? Strange arrangement . Ordered the kurobota maki wrapped with lady finger was good. The sashimi is fresh.
