This is an incredibly place to have a meal. I have been wanting to try this joint for a long time but their opening hours doesn't sync with my free time on most times.
This is very important, I can't stress this enough. Call and book. If you come without a reservation, be prepared to wait.
As far as food goes, I absolutely enjoyed each and every one of the 5 dishes I ordered. Naturally, since this is called a BKT place, ordering their BKT is compulsory. Theirs is the dry version. It comes with gravy. No soup. The pork rib and pork belly meat were cooked superbly. Juicy, tender, it was incredible. This gravy is dark, thick and a little salty. You definitely need rice to temper it's saltiness.
As for the tofu, incredible. Fried beautifully, there's a thin layer of crunchy skin and soft interior. Their tangy sour sweet sauce is perfect for this tofu. Their bitter gourd was also deliciously combined with runny half cooked egg. Lightly seasoned, it gave a different taste contrast to the heavy BKT dish.
The curry, meanwhile came boiling hot. The fish was fresh, came in generous chunks and cooked well. The curry had a semi thick creamy spicy flavour to it that gels well with fish meat. Lastly, the long beans were lightly stir fried and tasted fresh with a little crunch during bites. The sautéed garlic was impressive and one of the best I have tasted. Just enough salt and sweetness with an unbelievable crunch, this is better than the veggie itself.
In short, perfect food and will be coming by again...
Read moreI am giving the 5 stars based on the bitter gourd egg. I went there for lunch with several friends, the restaurant is full house during lunch time. since it was our first time dining there, the service staff who took our order recommended (also helped us order) the following dishes. Runny egg with bitter gourd. Dry Bak kut teh Curry fish meat Stir fry french bean
I am a big fan of any bitter gourd egg, and they made the Wa Tan (runny egg) style which is my all time favourite. The egg is half cooked, still runny. Egg yolk is creamy, topped with fried garlic and savory soy sauce, very nice. The dry bak kut teh is their signature. It has strong dry squid smell and oyster sauce taste. Meat is tender and flavourful. The curry fish is nice, fish is tender, curry is aromatic and spicy. Spiciness is just mild to moderate. The french bean is crispy and juicy at the same time. The fried pickled radish and garlic that they sprinkle on top complements the dish well. Price is fairly reasonable. The 4 dishes and pot it of tea above cost rm90.

Read moreI went around 8pm where the bak kut teh already sold out. Hence just order like chu char style. The menu is simple n limited option, but the food quality is at the top level, literally 贵精不贵多。 I hate bitter gout, but I need to say I don’t mind to eat it with the smooth fried eggs. The curry fish head is also one of the highlight - must order dish. The fish is fresh and the curry is thick taste yet not too spicy. Will definitely go back again for the bak kut teh. The service is really great, neighborhood kampung style of feeling. (Family business kind of casual and warm feeling). Total damage RM125 for 4 adults 1 kid, with 5 rice and 罗汉果 drinks. Oh, they only accept...
