Meng Chai Kopitiam Ah Hoe Beef Noodles Since 1950 — Restaurant in Penang

I actually came here for the cheesy toast. Hear a lot about it from local friends. It was definitely unique. They oven toasted the cheese on a loaf of bread and sprinkled a bit of sugar on top of the toast. It taste really good. Very traditional way of doing toast. They also have a runny half boiled egg on toast. Super delicious. The kopi-o served here was very rich. Definitely will give you a kick after a sip. I also managed to try their nasi lemak bungkus here. Chilli will give you a wake up call!! spicy and a bit sweet. Tasted fantastic and it will give you a blast from the past! LOL!! I also discovered they sold beef noodle here. I see a lot of customers doing take away for the beef noodle. I guess it must be good. I decided to try my luck on the beef noodle and it was really good. The clear broth was nice and just right with the beef noodle. I was here for breakfast so there was a bit of a crowd here. I came on a weekend so there were seats on the outer corridors as well. Ended up eating too much here so I didn't get a chance...

I love my good old roti bakar and teh c mornings. This place reminded me of a classic kopitiam in the 90s where there’s malay chinese and indian people eating in the same shop. It’s a very laid back place to get your breakfast in Penang (mainland). This kopitiam offers delicious beef soup. Noodles are up to your liking. I ordered roti bakar kaya and butter and my fiancé got roti bakar with half boiled eggs. Both were delicious, like a typical kopitam roti bakar. However, the uncle that makes beef soup is very busy since there’s very few workers. So i find it pretty slow to get my beef soup. But its worth going and trying...

Came here to try their famous sup lembu. Located in a hidden row of shop houses, walks away from main road. Nice and quiet atmosphere, with several restaurant and kopitiam neighbours. Their sup contains lot of tender beef slices. Fragrant soup with twist of herbs aroma, springkled with celery, so delicious. Enjoy it with steam rice and close it with cup of coffee. For total RM 15,5, you got a full good lunch. Good service and nice dining...
